What you'll do
- Lead the design and implementation of scalable and reliable cloud infrastructure solutions, primarily utilizing AWS and Azure services.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software developers and system administrators, to streamline deployment processes and improve system performance.
- Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate testing and deployment processes, ensuring rapid delivery of high-quality software.
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues, implementing proactive measures to enhance system reliability and availability.
- Advocate for best practices in DevOps methodologies, including Infrastructure as Code (IaC), continuous integration, and continuous deployment.
- Mentor and guide junior team members, sharing knowledge and fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
- Evaluate and integrate new tools and technologies to enhance operational efficiency and support the evolving needs of the organization.
- Conduct regular security assessments and implement necessary measures to safeguard our infrastructure and data.
- Collaborate with product management to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions that meet organizational goals.
- Document processes, configurations, and workflows to ensure clarity and facilitate knowledge transfer within the team.
- Participate in on-call rotations to provide support for production systems and respond to incidents in a timely manner.
- Engage in capacity planning and performance tuning to ensure optimal resource utilization and cost-effectiveness.
Requirements
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in a DevOps or Site Reliability Engineering role, with a strong focus on cloud infrastructure.
- Proficient in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or Ruby, with experience in automation tools like Terraform or Ansible.
- Extensive knowledge of containerization technologies, particularly Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes.
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or CircleCI, with a proven track record of implementing automated pipelines.
- Strong understanding of networking concepts, security best practices, and system architecture principles.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
- Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK stack.
- A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred.
Nice to have
- Experience with serverless architecture and microservices design patterns.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and experience working in Agile teams.
- Knowledge of compliance frameworks such as GDPR or HIPAA, particularly in relation to cloud environments.
- Previous experience in a leadership or mentoring role within a technical team.
- Certifications in cloud platforms (AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure DevOps Engineer, etc.) are a plus.
