What you'll do

• Execute the daily administration and monitoring of the enterprise network to sustain operational excellence.

• Configure routing, switching, and firewall rules with precision, strictly adhering to formal change management procedures.
• Deploy and manage monitoring frameworks that provide proactive identification of potential outages before they affect users.
• Author and maintain comprehensive documentation of all network configurations and topologies to facilitate rapid troubleshooting.
• Oversee hardware refresh cycles and coordinate the deployment of new network appliances in coordination with vendor schedules.
• Verify security controls and access policies rigorously during scheduled maintenance windows to ensure compliance.
• Partner with external vendors and technical partners to diagnose and resolve complex connectivity and service disruptions.

Requirements

• Bring a minimum of three years of proven experience in network administration within a professional environment.
• Demonstrate a deep understanding of TCP/IP, routing protocols, switching concepts, and foundational network security principles.
• Possess the ability to diagnose performance bottlenecks using monitoring platforms and command-line interfaces effectively.
• Show proficiency in managing network hardware, operating systems, and associated configuration files with attention to detail.
• Communicate with precision and clarity, adapting your language for both technical and non-technical audiences during high-pressure incidents.
• Adhere strictly to formal change management procedures to ensure that all network modifications are controlled and documented.

Compensation and Location

This role is based in Houston, Texas, and is offered as a full-time position. The annual compensation for this role is $120,000.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working within aerospace, defense, or high-speed transportation sectors is highly valued. Familiarity with the unique operational and regulatory environments of these industries is a significant advantage.

Tools and Skills

Your daily work will involve enterprise-level technologies including Windows Server, Active Directory, and VMware. You will utilize network hardware from Cisco and security platforms from Palo Alto. Monitoring and analysis will be performed using SolarWinds and NetFlow tools.
