About the role
As the HSQE Manager for France and Belgium at Ventientenergy, you will play a role in ensuring that our operations meet the highest standards of health, safety, quality, and environmental management. You will be responsible for developing and implementing HSQE strategies that align with our organizational goals and regulatory requirements. This position requires a proactive approach to risk management and a commitment to fostering a culture of safety and compliance across our teams in both countries.

What you'll do
- Develop and implement comprehensive HSQE policies and procedures tailored to the operational needs of Ventientenergy in France and Belgium.
- Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure compliance with local and international HSQE regulations, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions as necessary.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to promote a culture of safety, ensuring that all employees are trained and aware of HSQE practices and protocols.
- Lead incident investigations, analyzing root causes, and developing preventive measures to mitigate future risks.
- Monitor and report on HSQE performance metrics, providing insights and recommendations to senior management for continuous improvement.
- Engage with external stakeholders, including regulatory bodies and industry organizations, to stay informed on best practices and emerging trends in HSQE management.
- Facilitate training sessions and workshops to enhance the HSQE knowledge and skills of employees at all levels within the organization.
- Manage the HSQE budget, ensuring that resources are allocated effectively to support HSQE initiatives and compliance efforts.
- Act as the primary point of contact for HSQE-related inquiries and issues within the operational teams in France and Belgium.
- Drive the integration of HSQE considerations into project planning and execution, ensuring that safety and environmental factors are prioritized from the outset.
- Prepare and present HSQE reports to senior leadership, highlighting key findings, trends, and recommendations for action.
- Foster a collaborative environment where employees feel empowered to report safety concerns and contribute to HSQE improvements.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, or Engineering.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in HSQE management, preferably within the renewable energy sector or related industries.
- Strong knowledge of local and international HSQE regulations and standards, including ISO 45001 and ISO 14001.
- Proven experience in conducting audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on data-driven decision-making.
- Proficiency in using HSQE management software and tools, as well as Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Fluency in both French and English is essential; knowledge of Dutch is a plus.
Nice to have
- Certification in Occupational Health and Safety (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH) or Environmental Management (e.g., IEMA).
- Experience with renewable energy projects, particularly in wind or solar energy sectors.
- Familiarity with emergency response planning and crisis management.
- Previous experience in a managerial role within HSQE.
- Knowledge of sustainability practices and their integration into business operations.
