The will own the complete lifecycle of electrical systems development for our additive manufacturing platforms, driving innovation from concept to production. In this position, you will be responsible for translating complex system requirements into robust electrical architectures that enable the seamless operation of our industrial equipment. You will lead the design and validation of critical electrical components, ensuring they meet stringent performance, safety, and reliability standards. This role requires a deep commitment to technical excellence and collaboration across cross-functional teams to solve challenging engineering problems. You will actively contribute to the establishment of best practices and standards for electrical design within the organization. Furthermore, you will mentor junior engineers by providing technical guidance and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. What you'll do
- You will architect and develop advanced electrical systems and components tailored to the demands of high-precision manufacturing environments.
- You will conduct comprehensive design reviews and risk assessments to identify potential failure modes and implement robust mitigation strategies.
- You will specify and validate electrical components, creating detailed test plans that verify compliance with functional and regulatory requirements.
- You will generate and maintain precise Electrical System Interconnect Diagrams and Schematics using industry-standard tools to ensure clarity and accuracy.
- You will manage the technical aspects of supplier relationships for prototype out-sources electrical assemblies, ensuring deliverables meet strict quality criteria.
- You will collaborate closely with mechanical engineers to design optimal Electrical Control Panel layouts and Cable Routing schemes using mechanical CAD software.
- You will leverage Product Design Management and Product Life Management software to control design iterations and maintain rigorous version control.
- You will integrate knowledge of Automation Control Networks, Programmable Logic Controllers, and Motion Control to develop sophisticated system-level solutions.
- You will ensure all designs adhere to the IEC 81346-1 Standard for industrial documentation and labeling consistency.
- You will analyze system-level interactions to ensure electrical subsystems operate harmoniously within the larger manufacturing ecosystem.
- You will implement solutions that address the challenges of complex capital equipment common in additive, semiconductor, and display industries.
- You will utilize Solidworks Electrical 3D to create detailed documentation that supports manufacturing and service activities.
- You will apply hands-on experience with prototyping and troubleshooting to refine designs based on real-world validation data.
- You will contribute to the maintenance of technical documentation that supports regulatory compliance and internal audits.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in Electrical engineering or a related field or higher.
- + years of experience in Electrical Systems Design and Development.
- You need + years of ECAD experience (Solidworks Electrical).
- Experience with designing electrical systems for complex capital equipment in high value adding industries, such as additive, semiconductor or display.
- Hands on experience with prototyping, troubleshooting, manufacturing or installing complex capital equipment.
- Must have experience with Solidworks Electrical 3D for documentation of electrical designs.
- Experience with designing layout of Electrical Control Panel and Machine Cable Routing with mechanical CAD software such as Solidworks.
- Experience with Product Design Management and Product Life Management software, such as Solidworks PDM & Propel.
- Solid knowledge and understanding of Automation Control Networks, Programmable Logic Controllers, Motion Control, Machine Safety Systems, AC/DC Power Distribution, Machinery Safety/Compliance Standards.
- You need Experience with IEC 81346-1 Standard.
- Systems level thinker with experience working on complex electrical systems.
- High level of commitment to contribute to a positive, high-paced and results-oriented work environment.
