About the role
The role of centers on acting as the dedicated technical and commercial partner for strategic customers. You will own the end-to-end journey of account development, guiding select clients from initial experimentation with additive manufacturing through to mature, high-volume production. Success in this position requires deep collaboration with internal manufacturing, engineering, and field teams to solve complex production challenges. Your primary mission is to ensure target accounts fully adopt and derive maximum value from Velo3D's end-to-end solution, leveraging technologies such as Sapphire. You will serve as the central hub for communication, translating technical capabilities into tangible business outcomes and ensuring seamless workflow integration. This position operates as a regular, salaried, full-time engagement based in Fremont, California, with a compensation package ranging from $140,000.00 to $170,000.00 annually.
What you'll do
- Execute the business development strategy for assigned accounts by driving adoption of Velo3D's Sapphire technology and service offerings.
- Map existing portfolios within target accounts to uncover expansion opportunities and identify clear paths for new initiative implementation.
- Architect and execute joint development trials in collaboration with manufacturing groups to validate Velo3D process windows and ensure successful production of challenging components.
- Act as the primary scheduling coordinator with Field Management to resolve production bottlenecks and guarantee timely execution of customer commitments.
- Translate complex technical specifications into detailed narratives for the Applications Engineering team to ensure part feasibility is clearly communicated.
- Design workflows that integrate client environments seamlessly, translating business requirements into actionable technical pathways.
- Guide clients through every qualification phase, moving them smoothly from handling initial samples to achieving scaled, consistent output.
- Align resource plans between sales and operations teams to maintain project momentum throughout multi-phase engagements and cross-functional initiatives.
- Track key adoption metrics using data to highlight progress, identify opportunities for account expansion, and support executive briefings.
- Communicate production outcomes and roadmap alignment to company leadership, ensuring strategic objectives are met for target accounts.
- Partner with Applications Engineering to troubleshoot technical issues and optimize process parameters for specific customer requirements.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with C-level stakeholders and operational leads to drive strategic growth within assigned accounts.
- Proactively identify risks in the production pipeline and collaborate with internal teams to implement mitigation strategies.
- Support the creation of case studies and success stories that highlight client achievements using Velo3D's additive manufacturing solutions.
- Ensure all customer interactions reflect the highest level of professionalism, technical acumen, and commitment to value realization.
- Leverage data from trial phases to inform commercial decisions and guide negotiations for expanded engagement scopes.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and additive manufacturing advancements to position Velo3D as a thought leader.
- Coordinate cross-functional workshops and alignment sessions to ensure internal teams are prepared for customer demands.
Requirements
- Bring a proven track record of at least three years managing accounts within manufacturing or technology sectors to this role.
- Include direct exposure to metal additive manufacturing workflows or similar production-intensive environments in your background.
- Demonstrate the ability to interpret intricate technical specifications and convert them into actionable, client-facing roadmaps.
- Communicate clearly and effectively, ensuring complex ideas are presented with confidence to both engineering specialists and executive stakeholders.
- Show a strong capacity to bridge the gap between technical feasibility and commercial viability in fast-paced industrial settings.
- Exhibit resilience and adaptability when managing multiple priorities and navigating ambiguous project requirements.
- Commit to working regular office hours in Fremont, California, with readiness to engage across time zones as business needs require.
