About the role
You will own the end-to-end technical architecture for large-scale MDM programs within the Veeva Network and OpenData portfolios. This role requires you to translate complex business requirements into scalable, resilient, and compliant data management solutions. You will serve as the primary technical authority for customers during discovery, design, and implementation phases. A key part of your ownership involves defining integration patterns that connect MDM hubs with existing enterprise ecosystems. You will also evangelize industry best practices for data stewardship, governance, and master data quality. Additionally, you will mentor junior architects and developers on solution approaches and configuration techniques. You will collaborate closely with sales teams to shape solution proposals and proof-of-concept initiatives. Ultimately, you will ensure that every deployment aligns with Veeva's cloud operating model and strategic product direction.

What you'll do
Design and deliver end-to-end MDM architectures for Veeva Network and OpenData solutions tailored to enterprise life sciences customers.
Lead technical discovery sessions to capture complex business requirements and translate them into detailed solution designs and integration roadmaps.
Define data governance frameworks and master data management processes that ensure consistency, accuracy, and compliance across global deployments.
Configure and customize Veeva MDM capabilities to address specific customer challenges around product, customer, and organizational data unification.
Develop robust integration strategies that connect MDM hubs with external systems, ensuring data integrity and real-time synchronization where required.
Optimize data models and reference datasets to improve system performance, scalability, and user experience across commercial workflows.
Partner with implementation teams to provide technical guidance, code reviews, and best practices during solution deployment and rollout.
Conduct solution validations and performance testing to verify that MDM implementations meet business objectives and service-level expectations.
Serve as a customer-facing technical consultant, articulating architectural trade-offs and long-term implications of design decisions.
Champion innovation by exploring new MDM patterns, data quality tools, and industry standards to enhance Veeva's offering.
Provide thought leadership through documentation, internal discussions, and customer workshops that elevate the overall standard of MDM practice.
Act as a escalation leader for complex technical issues, driving resolution across cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
Support the development of reusable assets, such as configuration templates, integration playbooks, and reference architectures for future programs.
Collaborate with product management and engineering teams to influence the roadmap and prioritize features based on real-world implementation feedback.
Requirements
You possess a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
You have a minimum of eight years of professional experience in software architecture, data management, or enterprise integration roles.
You hold hands-on expertise with MDM concepts, tools, and implementation methodologies across multiple industries.
You demonstrate deep knowledge of data modeling, data integration patterns, and database technologies relevant to cloud platforms.
You have substantial experience working with life sciences or regulated industry data sets, including product, customer, and organizational hierarchies.
You are proficient in at least one integration platform or enterprise service bus, with a strong understanding of APIs, messaging patterns, and data transformation.
You show a proven track record of leading complex technical projects from initial discovery through successful production deployment.
You communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences, translating business needs into clear technical specifications.
You are comfortable working in an agile delivery environment, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams under tight deadlines.
You exhibit strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose intricate data issues and propose practical solutions.
You hold the right to work in the United Kingdom and are eligible to work without sponsorship at this time.
You understand and comply with data privacy regulations, including GDPR, and can design solutions that address compliance requirements.
You display strong ownership mentality, taking responsibility for outcomes and driving issues to resolution.
You have experience collaborating with customers in a consultative selling or pre-sales engineering capacity.
Nice to have
Experience with Veeva products, including Veeva Vault, Veeva Network, or Veeva OpenData, is highly valued.
Background in industries such as pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, or medical devices is considered a plus.
Familiarity with global master data management frameworks and data quality tools is preferred.
Understanding of public benefit corporation structures and mission-driven organizations is beneficial.
Knowledge of cloud-native development practices and DevOps principles enhances your ability to contribute effectively.
