Position Overview
The Legal Assistant, Contracts will own the end-to-end rhythm of legal intake, drafting support, and final quality checks for the China and Asia regions. Success in this role requires high personal integrity, the ability to manage multiple priorities, and strict adherence to deadlines. The individual will maintain a precise and clear communication style to enable swift action by partners. Collaboration with internal and external legal team members is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the intake process for legal requests, confirming all necessary data is complete before drafting commences.
- Organize and maintain contract templates and clause libraries to ensure consistency across all regional drafting activities.
- Perform detailed reviews of documents for accuracy, formatting, and compliance with internal standards prior to final approval.
- Coordinate the handoff of completed documents to ensure a smooth transition toward final approval and execution.
- Establish and maintain partner checklists that track key obligations, dates, and the status of all agreements.
- Update records management systems to ensure all legal materials are current, organized, and easily retrievable.
- Provide guidance to regional partners regarding requirements, timelines, and expected outcomes for each stage of the workflow.
- Act as a central communication hub to connect teams and ensure shared understanding of responsibilities and decisions.
Requirements
- Possess a minimum of three years of professional experience in a legal or compliance capacity within China.
- Demonstrate advanced proficiency in both written and spoken English and Mandarin Chinese for professional use.
- Show a proven capacity to handle concurrent assignments while meeting strict deadlines.
- Have extensive familiarity with global content management tools and contract repository systems.
- Exhibit exceptional attention to detail, with a history of identifying errors before document release.
