About the role
Upgrade is seeking a data-focused professional to manage marketing analytics and drive growth for its credit card products. You will report to the Head of Valuations and Investment Decisioning, acting as a primary partner to Finance, Risk, Product, and Marketing leadership. In this capacity, you will own the end-to-end marketing measurement framework and serve as the central analytics authority for all performance initiatives. Your work will directly influence how capital is allocated across channels and how value is extracted from the customer base. You will establish the narrative behind the numbers, ensuring that insights translate into coherent strategic actions. The role requires a balance of rigorous analytical depth and pragmatic business judgment to navigate competing priorities. You will be expected to challenge assumptions, validate hypotheses, and provide clarity in situations defined by ambiguity. Success in this position will be measured by the quality of decisions enabled and the trust placed in your analysis by senior stakeholders.

What you'll do
- Coordinate the marketing investment cycle through structured collaboration with finance, strategy, and credit teams to align on objectives and constraints.
- Construct an optimization engine that identifies high-potential prospects while rigorously adhering to policy constraints and risk tolerances.
- Refine channel mix, campaign targeting, and acquisition cost efficiency through continuous collaboration with Growth Marketing stakeholders.
- Develop bottom-up economic forecasts for business units that integrate cardholder behavior, market conditions, and operational assumptions.
- Produce quantitative data for investor reporting, including detailed portfolio stratifications and securitization performance metrics.
- Build and maintain unit economic models that support credit card investment decisions, including scenario and sensitivity analyses.
- Examine cardholder behavior across dimensions such as spending patterns, rewards utilization, engagement levels, and retention trends.
- Execute cohort analysis to track long-term portfolio health, evaluating lifecycle performance and identifying inflection points.
- Design and evaluate A/B and multivariate tests to isolate causal impacts and improve economic results across customer journeys.
- Convert complex datasets into clear, actionable recommendations tailored for executive leadership and non-technical audiences.
- Partner with BI and Data Engineering teams to remove bottlenecks, improve data scalability, and enhance the reliability of analytical assets.
- Mentor junior analysts through structured guidance, fostering standardized KPI definitions and consistent attribution methodologies across projects.
Requirements
- Bring 7+ years of experience in business, growth, or marketing analytics within dynamic and data-intensive environments.
- Demonstrate 3+ years of direct experience in fintech, lending, banking, or credit card products to ensure contextual relevance.
- Exhibit advanced SQL proficiency, including the ability to write complex queries and manage large datasets with precision.
- Show fluency with visualization and BI software such as Power BI or Tableau to communicate insights effectively.
- Maintain a strong background in experimentation methodologies, including design, execution, and interpretation of statistical analysis.
- Communicate in a manner that influences executive stakeholders, balancing technical depth with clarity and conciseness.
- Thrive in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities and shifting deadlines without compromising analytical rigor.
- Navigate ambiguous situations by applying structured problem-solving and sound judgment to reach defensible conclusions.
- Work independently and as part of a cross-functional team, aligning with colleagues who may have differing perspectives and constraints.
- Uphold data integrity and ensure that analytical outputs are reproducible, transparent, and aligned with regulatory expectations.

Practical notes
- Compensation range is specified as $140,000 to $190,000 annually plus equity.
