About the role
Upgrade is seeking an analytical leader to manage marketing investments and drive portfolio growth strategy. You will bridge the gap between technical data modeling and executive decision-making to optimize customer acquisition and unit economics. In this capacity, you will own the end-to-end marketing analytics lifecycle, ensuring that data integrity supports high-stakes financial decisions. You will act as the primary quantitative strategist for the marketing organization, aligning channel performance with corporate objectives. The role demands a balance between rigorous statistical oversight and clear communication for non-technical stakeholders. You will translate ambiguous business questions into structured analytical roadmaps that de-risk marketing spend. What you'll do
- Orchestrate the marketing investment cycle by aligning finance, credit, and strategy teams for coordinated campaign execution.
- Architect an optimization engine that targets prospective customers while rigorously balancing economic returns against internal policy constraints.
- Synthesize channel mix, creative strategy, targeting parameters, and customer acquisition costs in partnership with Growth Marketing leadership.
- Generate bottom-up economic forecasts and distill complex financial narratives for investor reporting and capital market discussions.
- Construct account valuation models that provide the analytical foundation for credit card investment decisions.
- Investigate customer engagement dynamics, including spending patterns, rewards utilization, retention mechanics, and credit performance indicators.
- Design and manage A/B and multivariate testing frameworks to systematically improve conversion rates, lifetime value, and overall profitability.
- Collaborate with Data Engineering and BI teams to enhance data infrastructure scalability and establish consistent enterprise-wide KPIs.
- Develop mentorship programs for junior analysts while delivering strategic guidance to senior leadership regarding portfolio trends and risk exposure.
- Establish data quality benchmarks to ensure marketing decisions are based on accurate, reliable, and timely information.
- Lead cross-functional initiatives that require the integration of marketing metrics with financial outcomes and regulatory considerations.
- Monitor market dynamics and competitive landscapes to identify opportunities for portfolio differentiation and growth acceleration.
- Document analytical methodologies and assumptions to ensure transparency, reproducibility, and knowledge transfer across teams.
- Drive continuous improvement by challenging existing paradigms and proposing evidence-based alternatives to legacy marketing strategies.
