Security Operations Engineer, Unit4 Global Cloud Operations
Unit4 Global Cloud Operations Team is seeking a Security Operations Engineer to safeguard our cloud infrastructure. This role centers on proactive monitoring, thorough investigation, and decisive incident management. You will ensure the integrity of our systems while defending against evolving threats.
Key Responsibilities
You will continuously observe cloud environments to identify potential security risks before they escalate. Analysis of security alerts and system logs will be central to your work, enabling the identification of suspicious behaviors and anomalies. When incidents occur, you will lead the response, managing containment, eradication, and recovery efforts. Investigating security breaches to uncover root causes is a critical part of this position. You will conduct post-incident reviews to derive actionable insights and recommend improvements. Detailed documentation of all incidents and activities will be maintained to ensure clear records. You will act on security incidents reported by customers or identified through internal monitoring. Adherence to established security policies and procedures is mandatory. System maintenance will involve overseeing firewalls, intrusion detection and prevention systems, and SIEM platforms. You will implement preventative security measures to reduce future risk. Staying current with the latest security trends, techniques, and technologies is essential for success.
Required Qualifications
The candidate brings three or more years of hands-on experience in security monitoring, analysis, and incident response. You possess knowledge and experience in hardening operating systems and related systems. Your background includes working with security-related group policies and their deployment. You are familiar with forensic analysis tools and established incident management methods. Knowledge of SIEM tools and security incident management processes is required. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills underpin your approach to complex challenges. You communicate effectively in both written and verbal contexts. You thrive under pressure and can manage multiple urgent incidents concurrently. A clear understanding of security policies and procedures guides your actions. Direct experience with firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and SIEM systems is expected.
Nice to Have
Familiarity with Microsoft Azure and related certifications is advantageous. Experience with AWS services for cloud security operations is valued. Scripting abilities in languages such as PowerShell for automation demonstrate your efficiency. Knowledge of networking principles and Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) infrastructure is beneficial. Basic command-line proficiency within Linux environments is a positive asset.
