Product Director, Professional Services
Job description
About the Role
You are the architect of Unit4's product strategy for professional services organizations. In this leadership position, you will define and execute the roadmap that makes our platform the definitive enterprise solution for this dynamic market. Your primary mission is to build industry-specific depth that horizontal teams cannot deliver, ensuring Unit4 remains the ERP of choice for mid-market professional services organizations. You will translate complex market shifts into coherent product trajectories, directly influencing commercial success and customer outcomes.
Key Facts
-
Location: Spain
- Primary Focus: Management consultancies, engineering and architectural practices, IT services firms, audit and advisory, and legal services.
- Compensation Range: 110,784 - 121,863 EUR.
Strategic Responsibilities
You will set the long-term vision for the Professional Services vertical, aligning it with Unit4's overarching platform strategy. This involves crafting a multi-horizon roadmap that balances immediate customer needs with future market demands. A core part of your role is defining clear, measurable outcomes for every feature you champion, ensuring they drive tangible adoption and customer value long after launch.
You will act as the definitive internal expert on the professional services landscape. This means equipping marketing, analyst relations, and pre-sales teams with the deep industry context they need to effectively position and sell our solutions. You will translate your market expertise into concrete product requirements, making informed decisions on opportunity sizing, problem statements, and whether to build proprietary capabilities or pursue strategic partnerships.
A significant portion of your work will involve designing the future of our solutions. You will create industry-specific blueprints, reference configurations, and reusable templates designed to accelerate customer time-to-value. You will be the vertical voice in platform planning discussions, ensuring Product and Engineering investments accurately reflect the needs of professional services organizations (PSOs).
You will also play a pivotal role in go-to-market success. Collaborating closely with the Industry Growth Director, you will oversee launch readiness, including pricing, packaging, and field enablement for new capabilities. To ensure the roadmap remains relevant, you will engage directly with strategic customers and industry boards to co-innovate and validate our direction, gathering real-world evidence. Finally, you will continuously monitor the competitive landscape, assessing the moves of NetSuite, Workday, Deltek, Kantata, and others to identify threats and opportunities for Unit4.
Essential Qualifications
Your background must include a proven track record of building and shipping enterprise software specifically for professional services. You must have lived inside a PSO, understanding the intricate flow from pipeline to revenue. Your operational knowledge must be deep, covering utilization economics, engagement profitability, billing models, and the complex dynamics of partner and shareholder returns.
You must possess a sophisticated understanding of the core processes you will support, including project accounting and billing, evolving invoicing landscapes driven by automation, project planning, time and expense management, and resource planning across the entire employee lifecycle. A forward-thinking perspective is essential; you must have a clear vision of how AI is reshaping the professional services business model and what this evolution means for the enterprise software PSOs require.
Your success will depend on your commercial acumen, understanding how product decisions directly impact ARR, win rates, and customer retention. You must be a master of influence, able to operate effectively within a matrixed environment and align diverse stakeholders toward a common vision. Strong communication and engagement skills are non-negotiable, especially when interacting with C-suite executives and day-to-day practitioners.
Valued Experience
While not mandatory, experience with ERP or PSA platforms is highly advantageous. A familiarity with the unique operational challenges of mid-market services firms will allow you to hit the ground running. Any prior exposure to AI-driven or data-rich product environments will further enhance your ability to identify and capitalize on future opportunities.
Our Culture
Unit4 is a people-first community dedicated to nurturing the whole individual. You will join a high-performance team that supports authenticity and celebrates individuality. We are reimagining what work feels like, believing it must be more than just tasks-it must be about feeling valued, empowered, impactful, and seen.
What We Offer
- A culture built on trust and accountability, granting you the autonomy to succeed and make a significant impact.
- A commitment to balance, supported by a Flexible Leave Paid Time Off policy and remote working opportunities.
