What you'll do

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable software applications that align with Bamboohr's strategic objectives and user requirements.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define software specifications and architecture.
• Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code while adhering to best practices in software development.
• Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers to foster a culture of continuous improvement.
• Troubleshoot and debug applications to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
• Implement automated testing frameworks to enhance software quality and reduce deployment risks.
• Participate in agile development processes, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to their professional growth through knowledge sharing and guidance.
• Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies to ensure Bamboohr remains at the forefront of innovation.
• Collaborate with DevOps teams to streamline deployment processes and enhance system reliability.
• Document software design and development processes to facilitate knowledge transfer and onboarding of new team members.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• A minimum of 5 years of professional software development experience.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, or JavaScript, with a strong understanding of their ecosystems.
• Experience with web frameworks (e.g., React, Angular, or Vue.js) and RESTful API development.
• Solid understanding of database technologies, including SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically in high-pressure situations.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• A collaborative mindset and a passion for working in a team-oriented environment.
