Forward Deployed Engineer
Job description
Forward Deployed Engineer
About the Role
Turgon is pioneering a new category in enterprise technology with its Agentic IT Modernization platform. The role of Forward Deployed Engineer is central to our go-to-market strategy and solution delivery. You will operate at the critical junction where our advanced technology meets the complex realities of enterprise clients. Your primary mission is to ensure that our AI-driven platform creates tangible business value by aligning powerful automation with specific customer needs. You will serve as the essential link, translating high-level business objectives into actionable technical pathways while our AI Agent Swarms perform the underlying heavy lifting. Success in this position requires a dual capability: engaging in sophisticated product discussions with technical leadership and maintaining the human touch required to manage client relationships and expectations. You will be the trusted advisor who ensures that automated solutions remain within the boundaries of real-world infrastructure and governance.
This position is tailored for a generalist who thrives on variety. You will move fluidly between whiteboard strategy sessions, detailed technical design, and active production deployment. You will work alongside our product and engineering teams to provide direct feedback from the field, which will inform our product roadmap. The ideal candidate is comfortable with significant ambiguity and possesses the resilience to deliver results in a fast-paced, evolving environment. You will challenge the traditional consulting model by demonstrating that modern AI platforms can achieve transformation at unprecedented speed. Your work will directly influence the strategic direction of CIOs, helping them transition from managing legacy complexity to building for the future.
Key Responsibilities
You will own the complete lifecycle of customer engagement, from initial discovery through to deployment and validation. This involves conducting deep discovery sessions to uncover latent enterprise problems and reframing them as structured opportunities for automation. A core function is the creation of detailed migration blueprints that deconstruct monolithic legacy architectures and map them to modular agent workflows. These plans must account for strict timelines and the constraints of existing operational environments.
A major component of the role involves building and configuring the integration layers that connect our AI Agent Swarms with a client's existing data platforms and fragile technical landscapes. You will review all technical artifacts alongside delivery teams to guarantee clarity, feasibility, and strict alignment with customer constraints and compliance requirements. You will then orchestrate the delivery of iterative modernization phases, ensuring that each phase provides demonstrable value long before standard corporate governance cycles conclude.
You will partner directly with our solutions architects to develop compelling, real-time demonstrations that concretely prove the acceleration and value of the transformation to executive stakeholders. A critical duty is guiding configuration and architectural choices during engagements to ensure client platforms remain extensible and flexible well beyond the initial contract period. You will validate final outcomes with all key stakeholders, confirming that the deployed agents solve fundamental business problems rather than merely addressing surface-level symptoms.
Requirements
The position requires a minimum of three to five years of professional experience implementing complex technology solutions within large enterprise environments. You must possess a sophisticated understanding of large-scale systems, data pipelines, and infrastructure common in finance and operations sectors. Your communication skills must be exceptional, allowing you to convey intricate technical concepts to non-technical audiences and vice versa, often across multiple continents and time zones.
You must be a proficient reader and writer of code, enabling you to critically evaluate the proposals generated by our AI agents and identify potential technical risks or edge cases. You will excel at navigating vague and ambiguous initial requests, converting them into clear, actionable technical tasks for cross-functional teams. Success requires a unique blend of empathy and rigor, particularly when explaining technical limitations and trade-offs to clients who anticipate rapid digital transformation.
Compensation and Location
This is a full-time position based in San Francisco. The annual compensation package ranges from $180,000 to $260,000, designed to reflect the high level of expertise and impact required for this role.
