Forward Deployed AI Product Manager, FSI
Job description
Forward Deployed AI Product Manager, Financial Services at Talkdesk
About the role
This position serves as the direct conduit between client reality and engineering execution. You will embed within banks and insurance companies for extended periods, observing queues and call center interactions to uncover genuine workflow patterns. Your primary function is to convert these raw observations into governed AI features, guiding each concept through a disciplined path to a released product.
New duty order
You are expected to act as a hybrid of Product Manager, Implementation Consultant, and Pre/Post-Sales Engineer. Success requires spending meaningful time inside banking and insurance environments, including contact center operations, digital and channel leadership, and claims or servicing functions. You will partner with C-suite sponsors to build trusted advisor relationships. Your mandate is to surface automation opportunities and unmet needs, then clearly articulate how our AI platform can address them while respecting strict regulatory boundaries. This role was specifically designed for individuals who have operated within financial services and feel a strong pull toward product strategy and AI implementation.
What you will do
You will design intake rituals that capture complex human workflows and convert them into clear product hypotheses. Working closely with Forward Deployed Engineers and Applied ML specialists, you will translate real-world processes-such as card disputes, fraud alerts, payments, account servicing, loan collections, and first notice of loss-into structured requirements. Your work will define the specifications for Autopilot design and configuration, ensuring completeness, consistency, and adherence to disclosure and authentication rules.
You will review pre-sales solution documents to confirm scope and feasibility before customer commitment. A core responsibility involves defining business success metrics, including containment rates, call deflection, self-service completion, first-contact resolution, and cycle times for claims and disputes. You will drive customer UAT, conducting manual validation such as live call testing to verify authentication paths and consent capture.
Collaboration with compliance, legal, and information security teams is essential to clear production gates in regulated settings. You will own pilot deployments from start to finish, managing timelines, change management, and iteration cycles. After launch, you will monitor deployed Autopilots using observability tools, evaluate performance, and drive issue resolution. You will also document ROI proof points and build case-for-scale narratives, handing off ownership to Customer Experience Managers for ongoing success measurement and expansion.
New duty order
A significant portion of this role focuses on shaping the product roadmap. You will surface recurring patterns from client feedback and translate them into actionable themes. This ensures that insights from live deployments directly influence future Autopilot capabilities and platform evolution.
