What you'll do
- Examine search marketing campaign data to identify trends in click-through rates, conversion rates, and cost per acquisition across multiple markets.
- Build and maintain dashboards that track key performance indicators for paid search channels including Google Ads and Bing Ads.
- Partner with the marketing team to design A/B tests and measure the impact of landing page changes on search-driven conversions.
- Analyze customer search behavior on the Tripadvisor platform to inform keyword targeting and ad copy optimization decisions.
- Develop SQL-based queries to extract and transform large volumes of marketing and web analytics data for reporting purposes.
- Create weekly and monthly performance reports that summarize campaign results, budget allocation efficiency, and return on ad spend.
- Collaborate with product and engineering teams to ensure proper tracking of marketing attribution and conversion events across the site.
- Provide ad-hoc analysis to support budget planning, seasonal campaign adjustments, and new market entry decisions.
- Monitor competitor search marketing activity and benchmark Tripadvisor performance against industry standards.
- Present findings and strategic recommendations to senior marketing leaders in clear, data-driven presentations.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field such as statistics, mathematics, economics, computer science, or a related discipline.
- Five or more years of experience in a data analyst or analytics engineering role, preferably within digital marketing or e-commerce.
- Strong proficiency in SQL for querying and manipulating large datasets from marketing platforms and web analytics tools.
- Demonstrated experience working with search marketing data, including paid search campaigns, keyword analysis, and performance measurement.
- Familiarity with analytics platforms such as Google Analytics, Google Ads, or similar tools for tracking and reporting.
- Experience building and maintaining automated reporting dashboards using tools like Tableau, Looker, or comparable visualization software.
- Solid understanding of statistical methods including regression analysis, hypothesis testing, and cohort analysis applied to marketing data.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for presenting complex analytical findings to non-technical stakeholders.
Nice to have
- Experience working with large-scale e-commerce or travel industry datasets and understanding of conversion funnels in those domains.
- Familiarity with Python or R for advanced statistical modeling, data cleaning, and automation of repetitive analysis tasks.
- Knowledge of marketing mix modeling or attribution modeling frameworks used to evaluate channel effectiveness.
- Exposure to machine learning techniques for predicting customer behavior, churn, or conversion likelihood from search data.
