What you'll do
- Perform installation and maintenance of overhead and underground electrical distribution systems, ensuring adherence to safety regulations and company policies.
- Conduct regular inspections of electrical lines and equipment to identify potential issues and implement corrective measures as necessary.
- Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot and resolve electrical problems, utilizing diagnostic tools and techniques.
- Assist in the planning and execution of new electrical projects, providing input on design and implementation strategies.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, including service reports and maintenance logs, to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Respond to emergency service calls, providing timely and effective solutions to restore power and minimize downtime for clients.
- Operate specialized equipment such as bucket trucks, digger derricks, and other machinery necessary for line work.
- Train and mentor junior line personnel, sharing knowledge and best practices to enhance team performance and safety awareness.
- Ensure that all tools and equipment are properly maintained and stored, adhering to company standards for safety and efficiency.
- Participate in ongoing training and development programs to stay current with industry trends, technologies, and safety practices.
- Communicate effectively with clients, providing updates on project status and addressing any concerns they may have.

Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an accredited electrical training program is preferred.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical line work, with a proven track record of successful installations and repairs.
- Valid driver's license and the ability to obtain a commercial driver's license (CDL) as required.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, tools, and safety protocols relevant to line work.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and at heights, demonstrating physical stamina and agility.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with team members and clients.
- Willingness to participate in on-call rotations and respond to emergency situations as needed.
- Familiarity with local, state, and federal electrical codes and regulations.
Nice to have
- Certification as a Journeyman Lineman or equivalent is a plus.
- Experience with renewable energy systems, such as solar or wind, is advantageous.
- Knowledge of advanced diagnostic tools and software for electrical systems.
- Previous experience in project management or leadership roles within the electrical field.
- Additional certifications in safety training, such as CPR or first aid, are beneficial.
Skills & tools
- Proficient in the use of hand and power tools specific to electrical line work, including voltmeters, oscilloscopes, and cable splicers.
- Familiarity with safety equipment such as personal protective equipment (PPE), fall protection gear, and insulated tools.
- Competence in reading and interpreting electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic computer skills for documentation and communication purposes.
