What you'll do

• Install, maintain, and repair overhead and underground utility lines, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.
• Conduct routine inspections of utility infrastructure to identify potential issues and perform necessary repairs.
• Collaborate with team members to plan and execute utility line construction projects, ensuring timely completion and adherence to project specifications.
• Operate heavy machinery and specialized equipment safely and effectively, including bucket trucks, diggers, and trenchers.
• Respond to emergency situations, such as power outages or downed lines, providing prompt and effective solutions to restore service.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed, including materials used, time spent, and any issues encountered during projects.
• Provide training and mentorship to junior line personnel, fostering a culture of safety and continuous improvement within the team.
• Communicate effectively with customers and stakeholders, addressing concerns and providing updates on project status and timelines.

Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in utility line work or a related field, with a proven track record of successful project execution.
• Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a clean driving record, as driving company vehicles is a requirement of the job.
• Strong understanding of electrical systems, safety regulations, and industry best practices related to utility line work.
• Ability to work in various weather conditions and perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy equipment and working at heights.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically in high-pressure situations.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact effectively with team members and clients.

Nice to have

• Certification in First Aid and CPR, demonstrating a commitment to safety and emergency preparedness.

• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills for diagnosing and resolving equipment issues.
