About the role
You will own the end to end sales process for Transfr within the Tri State region, driving new business across public school districts in New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut. This role requires you to act as a trusted advisor to district leaders, superintendents, and principals, aligning Transfr's immersive career readiness solutions with district priorities and strategic goals. You will navigate complex procurement and funding environments, including Title I, Perkins, and state CTE grants, to position our platform as the right choice for modern workforce development. You will build and manage a robust pipeline of opportunities, forecast accurately, and execute against revenue targets in a fast moving environment. Additionally, you will mentor junior team members, providing hands on coaching and elevating the standard of excellence across the sales funnel. This position is 100% remote but is tied to a specific territory where you will represent Transfr as a visible and trusted partner in career and technical education.

What you'll do
Drive net new business and own the full sales cycle across the Tri-State area, from initial outreach to closed deal.
Leverage and expand existing relationships with district leaders, superintendents, principals, CTE directors, and procurement staff to open doors and accelerate opportunities.
Navigate the buying, budgeting, and procurement processes of complex, urban school districts, including funding sources such as Title I, Perkins, and state CTE grants.
Build and manage a pipeline of opportunities, forecasting accurately and managing all activity in Salesforce with disciplined hygiene.
Represent Transfr in the field at district meetings, conferences, and on site demos as a trusted partner in career and technical education.
Partner cross functionally with implementation, customer success, and marketing teams to ensure customers achieve outcomes and renewals.
Build out process and develop a junior team, establishing playbooks and standards for scalable growth.
Provide hands on coaching and mentorship, actively joining calls and reviewing proposals to elevate the performance of a junior team.
Maintain a consultative, relationship first approach while consistently exceeding quarterly and annual sales targets.
Utilize strong communication skills to present to senior district leaders and translate the Transfr value proposition into clear student and workforce outcomes.
Travel regularly across the Tri-State region for in person meetings, demos, and district visits, balancing a remote work model with field presence.
Use Salesforce as the single source of truth for pipeline management, activity tracking, and forecasting accuracy.
Collaborate with cross functional stakeholders to ensure alignment on positioning, messaging, and go to market strategies for key accounts.
Demonstrate ownership of the entire customer journey, influencing stakeholders and sustaining long term relationships that drive retention and expansion.
Adapt quickly to shifting priorities, policy changes in education funding, and evolving district needs while maintaining a high standard of execution.
Requirements
You have 7-10 years of experience in net new business SaaS sales, with a proven ability to drive growth in enterprise environments.
You are comfortable traveling to customer locations, with an estimated commitment of 50% of your time on the road across New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut.
You have a proven track record of building and prospecting your own sales pipeline with a proactive, hunter mentality, rather than relying solely on inbound leads.
You consistently exceed quarterly and annual sales targets, demonstrating resilience, discipline, and a results oriented mindset.
You have a strong history of building and maintaining long term customer relationships, with evidence of high retention and expansion over time.
You bring a strong consultative sales background, with experience managing complex sales cycles involving multiple stakeholders and decision makers.
You possess hands on working experience with Salesforce CRM, using it for pipeline management, forecasting, and detailed activity reporting.
You communicate effectively in writing, verbally, and in presentations, with the ability to translate technical product details into compelling student and workforce outcomes.
You are based in the Tri-State area and are willing to travel throughout the region to meet customers, attend conferences, and conduct on site demonstrations.
You have experience mentoring and growing a team of sales professionals, providing coaching, feedback, and leadership through example.
You have deep knowledge of selling into public school districts, including understanding of procurement processes, stakeholder roles, and decision making dynamics.
You are comfortable working with funding mechanisms such as Title I, Perkins, and state CTE grants, and can articulate how these investments support career readiness.
You have a history of collaborating with cross functional teams, including customer success, implementation, and marketing, to ensure seamless execution and renewals.
You maintain a high level of integrity, transparency, and professionalism in all interactions with customers, partners, and internal stakeholders.
You are comfortable using data to drive decisions, regularly reviewing pipeline, forecast accuracy, and performance metrics to adjust strategies.
You are passionate about educational equity and workforce development, aligning your personal motivation with Transfr's mission of creating accessible, immersive learning experiences.
Nice to have
Prior experience in EdTech, CTE, or workforce development sales, with a track record of selling solutions that prepare students for in demand careers.
Familiarity with Tri State education funding streams and grant cycles, including how districts plan and execute budgets across the fiscal year.
An existing network of relationships with DOE central office and borough level contacts, enabling faster access to decision makers.
Experience selling into K-12 education systems or government organizations, including comfort with lengthy RFPs, compliance requirements, and multi year agreements.
Experience or familiarity with Virtual Reality (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR) technologies, and an understanding of how these tools enhance career exploration and skill building.
Practical notes
This position is 100% Remote, with the designated territory covering New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut.
The role requires regular travel across the Tri-State area for in person meetings, with an estimated 50% of time spent on the road.
Compensation includes uncapped commission and eligibility for the company's variable compensation and equity program, with actual pay varying based on experience, skills, education, location, and internal equity considerations.
