What you'll do
- Analyze payments pricing for current and prospective customers to verify rate structures align precisely with Toast's business goals and risk parameters.
- Explain card processing mechanics, including interchange fees, network charges, and scheme assessments, to both internal stakeholders and external clients with clarity.
- Evaluate complex custom rate requests, determine appropriate pricing adjustments, and articulate decisions with a clear, data-driven rationale.
- Act as a payments subject matter expert for the sales organization, guiding deal pricing discussions and elucidating the direct impact on profit margins.
- Review detailed card processing statements to identify anomalies, discrepancies, and trends, subsequently proposing and driving corrective actions.
- Manage end-to-end operational workflows that directly impact Toast Payments, identifying and removing bottlenecks while documenting procedures for consistency.
- Support Sales Enablement by developing and maintaining training materials and frameworks that standardize pricing messaging across the organization.
- Leverage data to pinpoint process improvement opportunities and spearhead initiatives that enhance operational scalability and efficiency.
- Collaborate daily with department leaders to review critical metrics, diagnose operational issues, and recommend timely, actionable solutions.
- Utilize advanced analytical techniques to forecast pricing impacts, ensuring that strategic decisions are backed by robust financial modeling.
Requirements
- Hold a Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Business, or a closely related field; this academic background is mandatory for the position.
- Possess 2 to 4 years of professional experience in analytical or operations roles, with a preference for candidates with customer-facing responsibilities.
- Demonstrate consistent proficiency in email, phone, and video communication to interact effectively with internal and external partners.
- Show an established ability to navigate difficult conversations while maintaining a high degree of professionalism and composure.
- Exhibit advanced skills in Excel and Google Sheets, as these tools are essential for building and manipulating financial models.
- Have significant experience preparing in-depth presentation materials tailored for multilevel audiences, from individual contributors to executives.
- Maintain a proven track record of contributing to strategic departmental projects from the initial concept phase through successful delivery.
