Senior Software Engineer
Job description
About the role
You will serve as the technical lead for the Technical Operations team, owning the architecture and technical direction of our data platform and internal tools while driving significant projects from design through rollout. You will design and build the data pipelines and integrations that bring engineering, tooling, and cost signals from source systems into a unified warehouse, consuming upstream domains as programmatic data contracts rather than manual extracts. You will partner with our Product Owner to identify and define the biggest opportunities for impact, and collaborate with your teammates on end-to-end solutions. You will build the back-end that enables role-based reporting on engineering health, AI and tooling spend and ROI, and cost and capitalization, replacing recurring manual processes with durable, auditable, productized tools and analytics. You will own quality, reliability, and operational monitoring for business-critical reporting that leaders at every level depend on. You will mentor less experienced engineers and up-level the team through design reviews, constructive feedback, and agent-assisted engineering practices. You will leverage cutting edge AI tools to enhance your development workflow, improve velocity, and help pioneer new approaches to building, contributing to a culture of innovation and productivity across the team.

- Contribute to code reviews, architectural discussions, and long-term platform roadmaps.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure integrations are maintainable, observable, and secure.
- Break down complex problems into manageable deliverables that can be tracked and iterated upon.
- Document designs, decisions, and interfaces to ensure clarity and continuity for the broader engineering organization.
- Support on-call responsibilities as part of an on-call rotation for critical data and reporting services.
Requirements
- Bring 5+ years of software engineering experience with a strong track record building and operating production data pipelines, integrations, or analytics platforms.
- Demonstrate a history of driving significant projects to completion from design through rollout, informed by solid technical and business understanding.
- Show strong skills in SQL and data modeling, along with proficiency in at least one modern programming language such as Python, Kotlin, or TypeScript.
- Have hands-on, daily experience with agentic engineering, building with AI agents and designing workflows where agents perform real engineering work.
- Hold agent-produced code to the same quality bar as your own work, ensuring correctness, maintainability, and testability.
- Possess experience integrating third-party systems and APIs, and designing clear data contracts between domains.
- Exhibit the ability to partner with non-engineering stakeholders and translate their processes into reliable technical solutions.
- Embrace a self-starting mindset, operating comfortably with ambiguity and leading within a small, leveraged team.

This role is embedded within a small, high-impact team focused on making engineering metrics, tool usage, and customer outcomes visible and actionable. You will be responsible for turning complex operational realities into clear data products that enable leaders to make timely, informed decisions. A core part of the role involves working with AI agents as first-class teammates, both to accelerate your own contributions and to help define how the team evolves its practices. You will build systems that replace manual reporting with automated, auditable pipelines that scale as the business grows. Success in this position requires a rare blend of technical depth, product thinking, and operational ownership. You will be expected to lead design discussions, mentor peers, and contribute to platform strategy that supports the entire organization. The ideal candidate thrives in ambiguous environments, balances delivery with quality, and maintains a strong bias toward action. If you are passionate about making engineering operations transparent and efficient through data and automation, this position offers the opportunity to have significant impact from day one.
