Key facts
What you'll do
You will articulate The Trevor Project's advocacy priorities and communicate them clearly to diverse audiences. You will analyze emerging legislative and regulatory trends to identify opportunities and risks for LGBTQ youth. You will develop and implement strategies to mobilize grassroots advocates in support of pro-youth policies. You will cultivate relationships with policymakers stakeholders and coalitional partners to advance shared goals. You will coordinate with internal teams to ensure that advocacy materials messaging and campaigns are accurate timely and impactful. You will monitor and report on the progress of policy initiatives providing data driven insights to guide decision making. You will represent The Trevor Project in public forums and meetings reinforcing our commitment to equity and inclusion. You will adhere to all relevant compliance and ethical standards in every aspect of your advocacy work. You will utilize tools such as aws go and rust to support technical aspects of advocacy infrastructure and data management.

You need Reports to: Manager of State Advocacy.
You need Authorization to work for any employer in the United States as The Trevor Project will not sponsor a work visa for this role.
You need Classification: Exempt Full Time.

You need Starting Salary Range: $30- $31/hr.

Preferred experience in legislative advocacy grassroots organizing or public policy relevant to LGBTQ youth issues.
