You will own the delivery of large-scale digital transformation projects by leveraging advanced AI techniques and a proven modernization methodology. You will act as the technological and managerial pillar for critical programs, guiding up to four Tech Leads and their squads through complex legacy modernizations. Your leadership will directly shape the quality and speed of delivery, ensuring that ambitious client objectives are met with excellence. You will work hand-in-hand with Group Project Managers to align technical execution with business strategy. This role places you at the heart of Theodo's AI Modernisation practice, where you influence the future of software engineering. What you'll do
Orchestrate the technical delivery of large-scale legacy modernization programs for major clients, ensuring projects stay on schedule and meet high quality standards.
Lead and mentor up to four Tech Leads, providing strategic direction, removing blockers, and facilitating their professional growth within a multidisciplinary project environment.
Champion the adoption of Theodo's AI-powered modernization methodology, driving a threefold increase in delivery speed for critical projects.
Perform in-depth Weak Point Management to identify, prioritize, and resolve architectural and technical risks proactively across the project lifecycle.
Collaborate closely with Product Managers and clients to translate complex business requirements into clear technical objectives for the engineering teams.
Define and enforce technical guardrails and best practices to ensure the robustness, scalability, and maintainability of modernized systems.
Analyze intricate technical challenges and devise cross-functional solutions that align with the strategic goals of large enterprise accounts.
Drive the continuous improvement of engineering processes, tooling, and workflows to enhance team efficiency and project outcomes.
Represent Theodo's engineering excellence and AI Modernisation practice as a thought leader both internally and to key stakeholders.
Adapt your management style to support diverse project structures, from agile squads to specialized technical teams.
Foster a culture of knowledge sharing and collaboration, ensuring that technical insights are distributed across the team.
Monitor project health metrics and adjust resourcing or technical strategies to mitigate delays and ensure successful delivery.
Guide the technical discovery phase for new projects, helping to shape the initial architecture and resource allocation.
Act as a mentor and career coach for Tech Leads, helping them to develop leadership and technical decision-making skills.
Requirements
You must possess a minimum of 5 years of professional experience, with a proven track record in managing tech teams within ESN or consulting environments.
You must be based in the Paris region, with a preference for significant presence in the office due to the strategic and managerial nature of the role.
You must have a solid technological expertise that grants credibility and legitimacy with engineering teams, even if you are not coding on a daily basis.
You must be capable of designing scalable architectures and arbitrating technical choices in complex enterprise contexts.
You must have significant experience in managing technical teams, with the ability to unblock Tech Leads facing complex technical issues.
You must demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a cross-functional impact within the organization.
You must be comfortable working with legacy systems and modern architectures in industries such as finance, health, and retail.
You must have a proven ability to communicate effectively with C-level stakeholders and translate business needs into technical strategies.
Nice to have
Experience in AI-driven modernization projects and a deep understanding of large language models applied to software development.
Track record of successful digital transformations in regulated industries.
