What you'll do
- Design and implement electrochemical test protocols to evaluate the performance of various materials and systems in energy applications.
- Conduct experiments to assess the efficiency, durability, and overall performance of electrochemical cells and related components.
- Analyze experimental data using statistical and computational methods to derive meaningful insights and inform future research directions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including materials scientists and engineers, to optimize the design and functionality of electrochemical systems.
- Develop and maintain detailed documentation of experimental procedures, results, and analyses to ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues that arise during testing, ensuring that experiments are conducted smoothly and effectively.
- Stay abreast of the latest advancements in electrochemical technologies and integrate relevant findings into ongoing research projects.
- Present findings and progress updates to internal stakeholders and contribute to technical reports and publications for external dissemination.
- Participate in the continuous improvement of laboratory processes and safety protocols to enhance operational efficiency and safety.
- Mentor junior team members and interns, providing guidance and support in their professional development and research activities.
- Engage with external partners and stakeholders to foster collaboration and knowledge exchange in the field of electrochemical research.
- Contribute to grant proposals and funding applications to secure resources for ongoing and future research initiatives.
Requirements
- A Master's or Ph.D. degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Electrochemistry, or a related field.
- A minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in electrochemical testing and analysis, preferably in a research or industrial setting.
- Proficiency in electrochemical techniques such as cyclic voltammetry, impedance spectroscopy, and chronoamperometry.
- Strong analytical skills with experience in data analysis software (e.g., MATLAB, Python, or similar tools).
- Familiarity with laboratory equipment and instrumentation used in electrochemical testing, including potentiostats and spectroscopic tools.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and a keen attention to detail in experimental design and execution.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex technical information to diverse audiences.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team-oriented environment.
- A commitment to safety and adherence to laboratory protocols and regulations.
Nice to have
- Experience with renewable energy technologies, such as fuel cells or batteries, is a plus.
- Knowledge of materials characterization techniques, including XRD, SEM, or TEM, would be advantageous.
- Familiarity with project management tools and methodologies.
