Designer III - Security
Job description
About the role
The is a focused position dedicated to the intersection of security strategy and digital modeling within a remote environment in the United States. This role owns the application of TEECOM's established security protocols, workflows, and BIM standards to ensure that project models and documentation meet the highest benchmarks of integrity and resilience. You will act as a technical specialist who safeguards design intent by identifying potential vulnerabilities and inconsistencies before they impact construction or operations. Working with a high degree of autonomy, you will translate complex security requirements into coordinated model components and clear documentation. You will mentor less experienced team members on best practices, ensuring that security considerations are embedded throughout the entire project lifecycle. This position requires a proactive mindset, as you will be responsible for maintaining model health, guiding coordination workflows, and reinforcing organizational standards for secure design delivery.
Key facts
What you'll do
- You will advance project security by applying TEECOM's workflows, tools, and BIM standards with a high level of independence.
- You will serve as a key technical contributor who helps project teams deliver coordinated construction documents that integrate security requirements seamlessly.
- You will work closely with engineering mentors, project leads, and production staff to maintain model health and ensure that security-related coordination issues are resolved efficiently.
- You will guide coordination workflows by identifying risks early, helping teams maintain clarity and alignment across models, markups, and deliverables related to security systems.
- You will support fast-paced coordination cycles by reinforcing TEECOM's BIM and documentation standards specific to security-focused systems and integrations.
- You will contribute to TEECOM's documentation system by refining workflows, improving modeling standards for security components, and supporting updates in GitHub based on lessons learned from project experience.
- You will lead efforts in production quality, coordination, and discipline execution specific to security-related design elements, ensuring accuracy in device layouts and routing strategies.
- Your level will be evaluated and determined during the interview process based on your ability to apply technical judgment and ownership of coordination quality.
- We are interested in every qualified candidate who is eligible to work in the United States; however, we are not able to sponsor visas for this role.
- You will operate at a trajectory-defining level, taking accountability for discipline-specific deliverables while building the depth required to transition into either the Associate (engineering) or Senior BIM Specialist (production) path with a security focus.
- You will contribute to team learning and collaboration by building your security-specific skills and supporting team learning through structured training journeys, mentorship, and hands-on project experience.
- You will estimate effort, sequence work logically, and coordinate task distribution within your security scope, demonstrating early project management judgment that supports team efficiency and delivery predictability for secure projects.
- You will improve design clarity by preparing coordinated views, calculations, research, and specifications that help engineers make informed design decisions regarding security integrations.
- You will strengthen cross-discipline accuracy by structuring models effectively, managing links between security systems and other disciplines, and resolving coordination issues in partnership with production teams.
Requirements
- As a Designer III, your impact comes from owning production quality, applying stronger technical judgment, and leading coordination across disciplines with a security focus. You contribute in three key ways.
- Lead Project Execution and Apply Technical Judgment
- You advance project momentum by delivering modeling, documentation, and early engineering work with increasing independence and sound judgment specific to security requirements.
- You improve design clarity by preparing coordinated views, calculations, research, and specifications that help engineers make informed design decisions regarding security systems and protocols.
- You strengthen cross-discipline accuracy by structuring models effectively, managing links, and resolving coordination issues in partnership with production teams while ensuring that security constraints are respected.
- You elevate discipline execution by applying engineering principles to device layouts, routing strategies, and coordination decisions that align with security standards and operational needs.
- You estimate effort, sequence work logically, and coordinate task distribution within your security scope, demonstrating early project management judgment that supports team efficiency and delivery predictability for secure deliverables.
- You operate at a trajectory-defining level, taking accountability for discipline-specific deliverables while building the depth required to intentionally transition into either the Associate (engineering) or Senior BIM Specialist (production) path with an emphasis on security compliance.
- Contribute to Team Learning and Collaboration
- You build your skills and support team learning through structured training journeys, mentorship, and hands-on project experience focused on security best practices.
- You actively participate in internal knowledge sharing related to security modeling strategies, ensuring that lessons learned are documented and integrated into team standards.
