About the role
Taxfix is seeking a Director of Operational Finance to manage and scale the operational finance department as the company pursues international growth. In this role, you will own the end-to-end operational finance function and drive the implementation of automation and AI-driven workflows to increase efficiency. You will lead a team of over 10 finance professionals, providing strategic direction and day-to-day management to ensure high performance and alignment with corporate objectives. The position requires close collaboration with senior management and external stakeholders to address complex administrative and financial challenges. You will be responsible for overseeing the production of monthly management accounts as well as audited annual financial statements to ensure accuracy and transparency. A key part of the role will involve integrating AI and agent-based workflows to transform finance processes and unlock productivity gains. You will also manage financial risks related to interest costs and foreign exchange exposure while implementing robust internal controls. Additionally, you will lead the adoption of IFRS reporting standards to ensure compliance and provide clear financial visibility across the organization.

- Mitigate financial risks associated with interest costs and foreign currency fluctuations.
- Implement and maintain IFRS reporting standards to ensure transparency and compliance.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to support the launch and scaling of new products and services.
- Establish and monitor key performance indicators to drive continuous improvement in financial operations.
- Define and optimize financial processes to improve efficiency, scalability, and internal controls.
- Manage relationships with external auditors, banks, and consultants to ensure smooth compliance and advisory support.
- Provide financial insights and analysis to support strategic decision-making at the executive level.
- Ensure that financial reporting meets the highest standards of accuracy, reliability, and timeliness.
Requirements
- Bring a minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in finance leadership and project management roles.
- Demonstrate a proven track record of managing multinational finance teams across diverse regulatory environments.
- Show deep expertise in both HGB (German Commercial Code) and IFRS accounting standards.
- Have substantial experience with internal control frameworks and global financial regulations.
- Possess strong ability to manage and maintain relationships with auditors, banks, and external consultants.
- Show exceptional project management skills, with a history of delivering projects on time and within budget.
- Demonstrate experience in negotiating with vendors, service providers, and other third parties.
- Exhibit fluency in both German and English, both written and verbal, to ensure clear communication across all levels.
- Display strong analytical capabilities and a meticulous approach to problem-solving in complex financial scenarios.
- Have experience working in fast-paced, growth-oriented environments where adaptability is essential.

Practical notes
This role is based in Berlin and requires full-time on-site presence. You may work from abroad for up to six weeks per year, providing flexibility for exceptional circumstances.
