About the role
The Commercial Account Executive position is responsible for developing and executing strategic sales plans within a designated territory, with the primary goal of driving revenue growth and acquiring new clients. You will work closely with a small, cohesive team and report directly to a Sales Director. The role involves engaging with technical decision-makers such as CTOs, Engineering, and IT leaders, as well as end-users, to identify opportunities and close deals. You will be expected to manage complex sales cycles, demonstrate the value of Talkdesk solutions, and contribute to the overall growth of the company's customer base in the assigned region. This on-site role requires a proactive approach to prospecting, relationship building, and closing sales, with a focus on SaaS solutions tailored to various industries.

What you'll do
- Identify potential leads and qualify prospects to develop a strong and sustainable sales pipeline, ensuring a steady flow of new business opportunities.
- Engage with CTOs, Engineering, and IT leaders, as well as technical end-users, to generate interest and uncover needs that Talkdesk solutions can address.
- Build and nurture relationships with prospective clients, fostering trust and positioning Talkdesk as a strategic partner for their customer service technology needs.
- Collaborate closely with Solution Engineers and other internal resources throughout the sales process to tailor demonstrations and presentations that meet client requirements.
- Participate in ongoing sales training sessions to stay updated on product features, industry trends, and sales techniques, enhancing your ability to close deals effectively.
- Demonstrate strong business acumen and deal-making skills by managing the entire sales cycle - from initial outreach to contract signing - while navigating challenges and objections.
- Uncover and develop new opportunities within existing accounts and new prospects, leveraging strategic planning and industry knowledge.
- Conduct web-based demonstrations and presentations using Talkdesk's demo software to showcase the platform's capabilities and value proposition.
- Manage and track sales activities, pipeline status, and forecast accuracy using CRM tools, ensuring timely follow-up and engagement with prospects.
- Develop strategic account plans to maximize revenue potential and identify upsell or cross-sell opportunities within existing clients.
- Represent Talkdesk at industry events, conferences, and client meetings to expand the company's presence and network within the target market.
- Collaborate with marketing and product teams to provide feedback from the field, helping shape messaging and product development strategies.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of Talkdesk's SaaS offerings, competitive landscape, and industry challenges to effectively position solutions.
- Achieve or exceed quarterly and annual sales quotas, contributing to the overall revenue targets of the organization.
- Provide accurate sales forecasts and reporting to management, highlighting progress, challenges, and strategic adjustments needed.
- Engage in continuous learning to improve sales techniques, product knowledge, and industry expertise, ensuring a high level of professionalism and effectiveness.
Requirements
- Over 5 years of experience in sales, with a proven track record of driving revenue growth and scaling new customer acquisitions.
- 2-4 years of experience specifically in SaaS sales, with a history of exceeding sales quotas and closing high-value deals.
- Demonstrated success in selling complex solutions to CXO-level decision-makers and technical teams.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience in a related field.
- Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time to meet clients, attend industry events, and support sales activities.
- Proven ability to close deals exceeding $50,000 in annual recurring revenue, with a focus on SaaS solutions.
- Strong understanding of SaaS sales methodologies and best practices.
- Experience with web-based demonstration tools and sales software, including CRM platforms.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport quickly.
- Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and capable of working independently while collaborating within a team environment.
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple opportunities and priorities simultaneously.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and execute account plans that align with company objectives.

Practical notes
- Pay Range (OTE Pay): $180,000 - $200,000.
- Compensation package may include long-term incentives such as equity, along with short-term incentives like bonuses or commissions.
