Key facts
What you'll do
- Accurately pick, pack, and ship pharmaceutical products according to established protocols and customer specifications.
- Ensure that all outgoing shipments are properly labeled and documented to comply with regulatory requirements.
- Operate various shipping and packaging equipment, including scales, tape dispensers, and label printers, to facilitate efficient operations.
- Conduct regular inventory checks to maintain accurate stock levels and assist in the management of inventory control systems.
- Collaborate with team members to optimize shipping processes and improve overall efficiency and accuracy.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
- Assist in the training of new shipping associates, providing guidance on best practices and company policies.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and other departments to address any shipping-related issues or concerns.
- Monitor and report any discrepancies in shipments or inventory to management promptly.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance shipping operations and customer satisfaction.
- Follow all company policies and procedures related to shipping, safety, and quality assurance.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by management to support overall operational goals.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent is required; additional education or training in logistics or supply chain management is a plus.
- A minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a shipping or warehouse environment, preferably in the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to accurately follow instructions and maintain high-quality standards.
- Proficient in using shipping software and basic computer applications, including Microsoft Office.
- Ability to lift and move packages weighing up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with team members and supervisors.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with shipping regulations and compliance standards in the pharmaceutical industry is a plus.
- Must be able to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Nice to have
- Experience with inventory management systems or warehouse management software.
- Knowledge of hazardous materials handling and shipping regulations.
- Previous experience in a role that required adherence to strict quality control processes.
- Forklift certification or experience operating material handling equipment.
- Bilingual skills (English and Spanish) are a plus, enhancing communication with diverse team members and clients.
Skills & tools
- Proficient in using shipping and logistics software, including FedEx, UPS, or similar platforms.
- Familiarity with barcode scanning technology and inventory management systems.
- Strong mathematical skills for accurate measurement and inventory tracking.
- Basic understanding of safety protocols and regulations in a warehouse environment.
- Ability to adapt to new technologies and processes quickly.
