About the role
Tabs is on the lookout for a skilled Solution Architect who will be responsible for developing tailored workflows, integrations, and extensions for our key clients. In this role, you will assess the feasibility of various solutions, determine necessary developments, and establish how different components interconnect. Your contributions will play a significant role in shaping customer experiences and guiding the future direction of our products.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Craft technical solutions for intricate customer projects by aligning requirements with data models, API workflows, and integration strategies across diverse systems, including ERPs, CRMs, payment processors, and tax engines.
- Work closely with sales, implementation, and customer success teams during pre-sales and project kickoff phases to evaluate feasibility, estimate complexity, and mitigate the risk of scope creep.
- Develop and enhance integration strategies, determining which elements should be custom-built, templated, or standardized by the Engineering team.
- Provide insights gathered from the field to help shape the product roadmap, advocating for necessary platform investments and collaborating on new API and platform features.
- Oversee project execution by reviewing methodologies, addressing design challenges, and assisting with complex issues while allowing project owners to maintain responsibility.
- Analyze customer environments and third-party systems to troubleshoot problems, validate assumptions, and reduce design-related risks.
- Document successful integration patterns, identify anti-patterns, and share lessons learned to enhance team knowledge and efficiency.
- Engage in continuous learning and adaptation to stay current with industry trends and best practices in solution architecture.
Requirements
- Proven experience in solutions architecture, forward-deployed engineering, implementation engineering, technical project management, or a related field focused on crafting customer-centric solutions.
- Demonstrated experience in designing integrations across various systems, such as ERPs, CRMs, billing, payment, or tax platforms, preferably within fintech, SaaS, or B2B environments.
- Strong grasp of systems and APIs, with the ability to interpret technical documentation, analyze data models and edge cases, and create resilient workflows.
- A track record of gathering insights from customers and field teams to influence product and engineering priorities effectively.
- Exceptional cross-functional communication abilities, with a history of collaborating with Go-To-Market teams, Product, Engineering, and customer stakeholders.
- Comfort in a startup setting characterized by shifting requirements, changing priorities, and high customer expectations.
Nice to have
- Familiarity with SQL and basic scripting languages (such as Python) for tasks like investigation, prototyping, and design validation.
- A background in finance, accounting, or revenue operations, or experience with platforms related to these areas (billing, revenue recognition, accounts receivable, financial close).
- Experience with integrating ERPs like NetSuite, Sage Intacct, or QuickBooks, or CRMs such as Salesforce or HubSpot.
- Knowledge of ASC 606 or other revenue recognition standards.

- Proficient in working with APIs, ERPs, CRMs, payment processors, and tax engines.
- Strong analytical skills to assess and design complex workflows.
- Excellent documentation skills for sharing knowledge and best practices.
- Ability to adapt to new technologies and methodologies quickly.
