About the role
Join the Algorithms team in Tel Aviv to refine and evolve our performance advertising technology. You will interpret complex, large-scale datasets to influence product direction and optimize algorithmic performance. In this capacity, you will act as a critical bridge between raw information and strategic decision-making, ensuring that our models evolve in response to rigorous evidence. You will own the design of experiments and the validation of outcomes, directly shaping the efficiency of our recommendation systems. What you'll do
- Extract actionable insights from massive datasets to guide algorithm improvements and business strategy, employing advanced queries and transformation logic.
- Create and maintain KPIs to measure the success of products and algorithms, ensuring that metrics remain aligned with long-term business objectives.
- Build analytical tools using Python notebooks and Grafana, streamlining the process of monitoring key performance indicators over time.
- Conduct deep statistical research to address unique, complex technical problems, applying robust methodologies to ambiguous or noisy data.
- Manage a portfolio of data projects, balancing ongoing tasks with ad-hoc requests while maintaining clear documentation and version control.
- Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to translate business needs into precise analytical requirements and hypotheses.
- Develop experiments and interpret results to evaluate the impact of algorithmic changes on user engagement and revenue metrics.
- Maintain data integrity and consistency across pipelines, ensuring that dashboards reflect accurate and up-to-date information.
- Communicate findings effectively through visualizations and narrative summaries, making complex concepts accessible to non-technical audiences.
- Continuously explore new analytical techniques and tools to improve the efficiency and depth of the team's insights.
Requirements
- MSc or PhD in Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, Engineering, or a related quantitative field, demonstrating a strong theoretical foundation.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in data analysis, data science, product analysis, or quantitative research, including academic work, with a proven track record of impact.
- Proficiency in Python, specifically with LLM-assisted coding tools like Cursor or Claude Code, to accelerate development and iteration.
- Advanced SQL skills, ideally with experience in Google BigQuery, enabling efficient querying of large-scale datasets.
- Strong foundation in statistical modeling and practical experience with A/B testing frameworks to validate hypotheses.
- Familiarity with machine learning principles, including an understanding of model evaluation and performance metrics.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and communicate effectively in English, ensuring clarity and precision in all interactions.
- Willingness to adhere to Taboola's internal processes and quality standards in all analytical deliverables.
- Commitment to maintaining data confidentiality and complying with organizational guidelines regarding information security.
