About the role
You will maintain and evolve shared frontend capabilities that serve multiple product teams within the client's financial sector environment. You will act as a technical catalyst by incorporating AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot into daily workflows and promoting their adoption. You will expand and improve regression test automation at scale using Playwright to ensure stability and coverage across applications. You will strengthen CI/CD pipelines and quality gates while resolving recurring frontend quality issues that impact multiple teams. You will serve as a technical point of contact, supporting teams with adoption, upgrades, and migrations of frontend solutions. You will backfill a key role within a central engineering team, ensuring immediate impact and continuity. You will contribute to building a paved road platform that empowers product teams with shared frontend foundations, libraries, and developer experience.

What you'll do

- Actively incorporate AI tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot) into daily workflows for coding, refactoring, and analysis, while promoting these practices across the organization.
- Expand and improve regression test automation at scale using Playwright, defining best practices for stability and coverage.
- Strengthen CI/CD pipelines and quality gates while resolving recurring frontend quality issues that impact multiple teams.
- Act as a technical point of contact, supporting teams with adoption, upgrades, and migrations of frontend solutions.
- Backfill a key role within a central engineering team to ensure immediate impact within the client's web environment.
- Contribute to the development and governance of shared frontend foundations, libraries, and developer experience initiatives.
- Collaborate closely with other senior engineers and stakeholders to align frontend strategy with business objectives and delivery goals.
- Drive continuous improvement across the frontend stack by introducing standards, patterns, and tooling that enhance reliability and performance.
- Support the creation of high-quality, accessible, and maintainable user interfaces that scale across multiple products and lines of business.
- Mentor junior developers by providing guidance on best practices, code reviews, and effective use of frontend tooling.
- Participate in architectural discussions and help define long-term frontend roadmaps in partnership with product and design teams.
- Ensure delivery of robust, testable, and maintainable frontend solutions that meet strict security and compliance requirements in the financial sector.
- Contribute to the success of the OneWeb Foundation team by enabling faster experimentation and safer deployments through improved tooling.
Requirements
- 5+ years of software development experience with a heavy focus on frontend engineering and shared libraries/platforms.
- Strong knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, alongside modern frameworks like Lit, React, Vue, or Angular.
- 3+ years of experience with Azure DevOps, including repository management, pipelines, and YAML configurations.
- 3+ years of experience with Playwright, including test design, selectors, and debugging in complex web applications.
- Experience working in financial services or other regulated environments, understanding compliance and security implications.
- Strong understanding of web performance, accessibility, and cross-browser compatibility considerations.
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a matrixed engineering organization.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to articulate technical decisions and trade-offs to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Willingness to engage in hands-on coding, code reviews, and knowledge sharing across the engineering community.
- Commitment to maintaining high standards of software quality, reliability, and maintainability in all delivered solutions.
Nice to have
- Experience with component libraries and design systems implementation.
- Familiarity with TypeScript at scale in large applications.
- Knowledge of containerization and cloud-native deployment workflows.
- Experience contributing to open source frontend projects or publishing reusable packages.
