What you'll do
- Execute the bi-weekly payroll run for plant and salaried employees as directed by the Payroll Supervisor, ensuring all calculations are verified and accurate.
- Perform daily audits and reviews of time and attendance adjustments for hourly paid employees, safeguarding the integrity and accuracy of all payroll data.
- Prepare and compile a variety of request forms, including retro adjustments, vacation money withdrawals, ROE requests, boot allowance claims, and medical notes, for timely reimbursement processing.
- Manage, update, and maintain comprehensive employee records, tracking base rate progressions, changes in address, phone numbers, banking information, payroll deductions, garnishments, permanent department transfers, and schedules within the Dayforce and AS400 systems.
- Monitor absenteeism trends on a daily basis and review the "No Show" report, recording all absences and preparing the required reports for management review.
- Record and track the daily internal transfer of employees between departments to ensure accurate application of rate changes in payroll systems.
- Assist in the onboarding process for new employees, ensuring all necessary forms are completed accurately before inputting the data into both Dayforce and AS400.
- Prepare and submit all necessary documentation for the benefits package for eligible employees, ensuring that Canada Life, Green Shield Canada, RRSP enrollment forms, and Blue Cross files are kept current and organized.
- Create and monitor access cards for new employees, visitors, and contractors, maintaining strict control over access permissions and records.
- Monitor and track employee vacation time on a weekly basis, ensuring balances are accurate and in compliance with company policies.
- Provide Time Loss and Wages information to support WCB, MPI Employers Verification of Earnings, and STD claims to insurance companies for illness or injury.
- Perform other payroll and benefits administration duties as assigned by the Payroll Supervisor to support the overall function of the department.
