About the role
Sunday is building home robots designed to handle repetitive chores and return time to households. We are looking for a strategy and operations lead to partner with our Head of Business on critical growth, planning, and commercialization initiatives. This position sits at the intersection of product, finance, and corporate development, translating high-level vision into executable roadmaps. You will be responsible for shaping how we enter new markets and structure our long term business model in a rapidly evolving robotics landscape. The role requires comfort with incomplete information and the ability to drive closure on ambiguous initiatives. You will own the narratives that guide major internal and external decisions for the company.

What you'll do
- Manage cross-functional projects that involve high levels of ambiguity and deliver tangible business results, coordinating inputs from engineering, design, and sales.
- Execute major negotiations regarding supply chain, manufacturing, infrastructure, and corporate partnerships, ensuring alignment on terms and risk mitigation.
- Develop financial models, scenario planning, and resource allocation strategies to support company growth and capital planning, balancing short term cash needs with long term optionality.
- Prepare materials for board meetings, investor updates, and external communications, distilling complex operational data into clear and persuasive stories.
- Define market entry and pricing strategies for our robotics products, incorporating competitive intelligence and customer feedback into concrete go to market plans.
- Execute on leadership priorities to ensure company objectives are met, tracking key milestones and adjusting plans as conditions change.
- Partner closely with the Head of Business to identify new opportunities, challenge assumptions, and stress test strategic options before commitment.
- Own the end to end process for evaluating and prioritizing initiatives, from initial hypothesis through implementation and post mortem learning.
- Build and maintain relationships with external stakeholders, including suppliers, distributors, and investors, to support the long term health of the business.
- Drive operational excellence by establishing clear metrics, documentation standards, and decision frameworks that scale as the team grows.
- Identify and resolve bottlenecks that prevent efficient execution, removing obstacles that cross functional boundaries.
- Synthesize qualitative insights from customer interactions and market signals into quantitative inputs for strategic planning.
- Lead special projects that do not fit neatly into existing roles, demonstrating extreme ownership and follow through in unstructured environments.
- Act as a thought partner to the leadership team, offering data driven perspectives and challenging proposals before major commitments are made.
Requirements
- Minimum of 4 years of professional experience in operations, banking, consulting, or investment roles, with a track record of delivering results in complex environments.
- Proven ability to lead and finalize high value, complex capital agreements, understanding the implications of structure, timing, and stakeholder alignment.
- High sense of urgency and the ability to act independently without waiting for instructions, comfortable making progress with incomplete data.
- Capacity to think strategically while remaining willing to perform hands on work, shifting between analysis and execution as circumstances demand.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate across teams, building trust and alignment among diverse stakeholders.
- A clear perspective on the future of physical AI and robotics, including an understanding of how hardware constraints shape business models and adoption curves.
- Willingness to relocate to or remain in Redwood City, Canada, and to work full-time in a role that demands consistent availability during standard business hours.
- Adherence to company policies and procedures, including those related to confidentiality, compliance, and ethical conduct in all business dealings.
Nice to have
- Background in deep tech, specifically in building business functions from the ground up, allowing you to design processes that match the unique needs of a robotics company.
- Experience with rapid company scaling or inflection points, having navigated periods of hypergrowth and significant organizational change.
- Proficiency in hardware specific unit economics, market strategy, and corporate planning, providing credibility when working with engineering and product teams.
