This Senior Educational Technologist role is responsible for guiding digital learning initiatives across a growing K-12 network of charter schools in New York. The position holder will partner directly with educators and the IT department to strengthen classroom practice through the strategic implementation of technology solutions. What you'll do
Provide comprehensive support for the Core Canvas LMS and CMS to ensure course navigation and content delivery remain clear and consistent for both students and faculty members.
Analyze platform usage data to identify trends and areas for improvement, guiding enhancements in adoption, troubleshooting, and district systems syncing to maintain accurate rostering across all courses.
Evaluate potential LTI tools and oversee their deployment to ensure selected integrations meet rigorous standards for technical performance, accessibility, and student data privacy.
Manage educational media platforms to guarantee the reliability and accessibility of asynchronous video learning content for both students and staff members.
Perform detailed functional knowledge assessments of LMS and CMS frameworks to support ongoing platform health and the logical structure of digital course content.
Champion the implementation of LTI 1.3/Advantage integrations, enabling secure connections between external learning tools and the primary learning management system.
Oversee the management of educational media platforms to facilitate seamless content creation, delivery, and archiving for asynchronous learning environments.
Translate complex technical processes and platform changes into clear, actionable guidance for educators and school leaders through targeted communication and training.
Ensure strict adherence to FERPA, COPPA, and SOPPA regulations during the onboarding of any new educational technology tools or platforms.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, test, and roll out new features or updates that enhance the overall digital learning ecosystem for the school network.
Requirements
Possess five or more years of cumulative experience specifically within educational technology, instructional design, or systems administration roles.
Demonstrate deep functional knowledge of Learning Management System (LMS) and Content Management System (CMS) frameworks to support the ongoing health and organization of platform content.
Show proven success with LTI 1.3/Advantage integrations, which is required to enable secure and effective connections between various educational tools.
Bring extensive experience working within the Apple iPad ecosystem to design and support effective mobile learning strategies for students and teachers.
Exhibit a strong understanding of FERPA, COPPA, and SOPPA regulations to safeguard student data privacy during the evaluation and onboarding of new tools.
Communicate complex technical concepts with exceptional clarity to translate jargon into plain language for educators and school leadership.
Hold a Bachelor's degree in Educational Technology, Instructional Design, Computer Science, or a related field, combined with substantial additional experience in educational technology.
Maintain the highest level of professionalism and reliability to meet the demands of a fast-paced public charter school environment.
Demonstrate the ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team to solve complex problems related to digital learning.
