What you'll do

• Lead and oversee the toxicology department, ensuring that all projects align with the company's strategic goals and regulatory requirements.
• Develop and implement comprehensive toxicology strategies to evaluate the safety profiles of drug candidates at various stages of development.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including pharmacology, clinical development, and regulatory affairs, to facilitate the progression of drug candidates through the development pipeline.
• Design and manage preclinical and clinical toxicology studies, ensuring adherence to GLP (Good Laboratory Practice) and other relevant guidelines.
• Analyze and interpret toxicology data, preparing detailed reports and presentations for internal stakeholders and regulatory submissions.
• Mentor and guide junior scientists and toxicologists, fostering a culture of scientific excellence and innovation within the team.
• Stay abreast of the latest advancements in toxicology and drug development, integrating new methodologies and technologies into the research process.
• Engage with external partners, including CROs (Contract Research Organizations) and academic institutions, to enhance the company's toxicology capabilities and resources.
• Contribute to the preparation of regulatory submissions, ensuring that toxicology data is presented clearly and effectively to support product approvals.
• Participate in scientific conferences and industry meetings, representing Bamboohr and sharing insights on our toxicology research and findings.
• Collaborate with the quality assurance team to ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards in toxicology studies.
• Lead risk assessment initiatives to identify potential safety concerns and propose mitigation strategies for drug candidates.

Requirements

• Ph.D. in Toxicology, Pharmacology, or a related field, with a minimum of 8 years of relevant industry experience.
• Proven experience in leading toxicology teams and managing complex projects in a pharmaceutical or biotechnology setting.
• Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements and guidelines related to toxicology, including ICH, FDA, and EMA standards.
• Demonstrated expertise in designing and interpreting preclinical and clinical toxicology studies.
• Excellent analytical skills with a strong ability to communicate complex scientific data clearly and effectively.
• Experience in mentoring and developing scientific talent within a team environment.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
• Proficiency in using toxicology-related software and tools for data analysis and reporting.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
