About the role
Stripe seeks a Project Manager, Global Expansion to own the People infrastructure for new entities and mergers and acquisitions. You will translate ambiguous, multi-stakeholder decisions into structured programs that remain compliant and resilient at scale. The role requires building employment infrastructure from scratch where none exists and delivering against hard deadlines without disrupting existing teams. You will act as the central orchestration point for complex, cross-functional initiatives that define how work gets done in new legal environments. Success in this position means creating scalable frameworks that allow Stripe to operate with local compliance and global consistency simultaneously. You will partner closely with People leadership to ensure every program supports the employee experience as much as it supports business velocity. The work demands comfort with ambiguity and the ability to construct order from evolving requirements and shifting priorities.

What you will do
- Manage intake and scoping for global employment readiness, defining requirements in partnership with People leadership.
- Coordinate build workflows across payroll, tax, legal, and benefits teams to ensure alignment on timelines and expectations.
- Establish review checkpoints to validate regulatory compliance and employee experience at each stage of the entity lifecycle.
- Ship entity launches on strict timelines and manage post-launch handoffs to People, Legal, and Finance functions.
- Lead entity-related workstreams in mergers and acquisitions, advising on retain, merge, or wind-down decisions and managing employer-of-record to entity transitions.
- Serve as the primary coordination point across People functions, including Total Rewards, People Systems, and People Operations, as well as cross-functional leads in Payroll, Tax, Legal, Finance, and Strategy.
- Build and continuously improve the infrastructure that makes entity management and employment readiness scalable, including intake forms, project plan templates, handoff checklists, standard operating procedures, playbooks for common jurisdictions, compliance trackers, and retrospective documentation.
- Surface cross-entity patterns, systemic risks, and program coverage gaps to enable People leadership with structured insights and recommendations.

- Own requirements gathering and readiness gates across functions, ensuring alignment before execution begins.
- Manage approvals and handoffs to Legal, Finance, and Payroll teams, coordinating reviews and sign-offs on schedule.

Nice to have
Experience with global payroll, statutory benefits, and equity registration across multiple jurisdictions. Knowledge of regulatory compliance frameworks relevant to employment and taxation. Familiarity with intake forms, project plans, and standard operating procedure documentation.
