Stripe is seeking a Tier 1 Support Engineer to join the MXC CorpTech Services team in Dublin. This role focuses on providing direct, in-person technical assistance to employees and managing the hardware and software systems that keep the company running. The successful candidate will serve as the primary point of contact for resolving technical issues across the organization, ensuring minimal disruption to daily business operations. You will be responsible for maintaining the stability and reliability of the end-user environment through proactive support and structured troubleshooting. This position requires a methodical approach to problem-solving and a commitment to documenting every interaction for future reference. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to understand their needs and deliver technology solutions that enhance productivity. The role emphasizes both reactive support for urgent issues and preventative measures to improve system resilience over time.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Resolve technical issues regarding hardware, software, and computer systems via in-person support, Slack, email, and ticketing platforms.
- Manage the physical setup of workstations and perform audits of office peripherals to ensure optimal functionality.
- Execute diagnostic routines to identify and fix technical problems, including basic troubleshooting of scripts and automation.
- Maintain and support SaaS platforms such as Google Workspace, Zoom, Slack, JIRA, and Confluence to ensure seamless user experience.
- Provision laptops for new hires and manage fleet upgrades, ensuring all devices meet organizational standards.
- Oversee IT asset management and maintain accurate inventory records for all hardware and software assets.
- Support office-wide technology including printers, room schedulers, and Zoom Rooms to facilitate efficient meetings.
- Create and update technical documentation for both internal teams and general staff to standardize processes and knowledge.
- Participate in on-call rotations as required to address critical issues outside regular business hours.
- Assist with the onboarding and training of new employees and contractors to ensure they can utilize technology effectively.
- Monitor system performance and user feedback to identify trends and recommend improvements to infrastructure.
- Collaborate with vendors and third-party providers to resolve complex technical issues and negotiate service terms.
- Implement security protocols and best practices to protect company data and maintain regulatory compliance.
- Conduct regular testing of hardware and software to preemptively address potential failures before they impact users.
- Support the deployment of new technologies and tools to drive innovation and efficiency across the organization.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience in an IT HelpDesk role to ensure a foundational understanding of support operations.
- Proficiency with Apple hardware and software, including macOS and iOS, to provide expert support to Apple device users.
- Experience managing Google Workspace, Slack, Zoom, and Atlassian tools like JIRA and Confluence to support daily collaboration.
- Ability to troubleshoot and execute scripts in languages such as Python, Bash, or Ruby to automate repetitive tasks.
- Familiarity with endpoint management and imaging tools like JAMF, Mooki, Chef, or DEP to maintain device integrity.
- Strong communication skills and a customer-service oriented mindset to interact effectively with all levels of staff.
- Ability to work independently and manage project priorities to handle multiple tasks without direct supervision.
- Understanding of network fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DNS, and VPNs to diagnose connectivity issues.
- Knowledge of security principles such as password management, phishing awareness, and data protection practices.
- Willingness to adhere to company policies and procedures to ensure a secure and efficient working environment.
