Senior Manager, Organic Growth & AI Search
Job description
About the role
Stream is currently seeking a Senior Manager, Organic Growth & AI Search to join our team and help elevate the quality of apps for billions of users globally. This is a full-time position that is based within our Boulder, Colorado office, with a hybrid schedule that expects three days per week in the office. The role reports directly to the leadership team and owns the full-funnel growth strategy for our digital presence. You will be responsible for defining and executing the roadmap that connects our brand to developers and builders who are searching for solutions. This position requires a high degree of ownership, curiosity, and comfort with moving quickly between strategic planning and direct implementation. You will be a key driver in ensuring that Stream remains the go-to resource for developers across search engines and AI platforms.
What you'll do
You will establish and manage the end-to-end organic growth strategy for Stream, covering traditional search engine optimization, AI search visibility, and conversion rate optimization. You will take direct action on a wide range of initiatives that improve our ranking positions, increase qualified traffic, and drive more signups from organic sources. You will work closely with cross-functional partners to ensure that our messaging is consistent and effective across all touchpoints. Your daily responsibilities will include the following specific areas of focus.
You will own technical search engine optimization for the marketing website and developer documentation, handling site architecture, crawlability, indexation, schema implementation, structured data usage, and page performance improvements. You will conduct on-page optimization for the marketing site and docs, refining content structure, metadata frameworks, internal linking strategies, and keyword targeting to align with user intent. You will build and manage an off-page and authority program, which includes link acquisition, digital public relations efforts, and strategic partnerships designed to strengthen domain authority over time. You will perform ongoing keyword, competitor, and opportunity research to identify and prioritize the highest-value organic plays that align with business objectives. You will partner with content creators and Developer Relations teams to translate editorial and technical content into tangible rankings and qualified organic traffic growth. You will monitor key performance indicators within Google Search Console, Semrush, and analytics platforms, analyzing data related to qualified traffic, keyword rankings, and signup conversions.
You will build and maintain comprehensive tracking for how and where Stream appears across AI assistants and AI-search answer engines, including major platforms such as ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, Gemini, and Google AI Overviews. You will define the methodology and core metrics used to measure AI-search visibility, citation accuracy, and recommendation quality. You will optimize content and site structure to increase the likelihood that Stream is cited and recommended by large language models and AI-search products. You will evaluate, select, and implement tools designed to measure LLM visibility, filling gaps where existing solutions do not meet our specific requirements. You will monitor emerging AI-search behavior and user interaction patterns, adjusting strategy quickly as the discovery landscape evolves. You will collaborate with Developer Relations and content teams to ensure Stream is effectively covered across relevant prompts and use cases.
You will design, run, and analyze A/B and multivariate experiments on live traffic with the goal of improving conversion rates across the funnel. You will identify and resolve friction points in conversion flows, focusing on critical moments such as signup and SDK installation processes. You will partner with frontend engineers and content teams to improve website and dashboard user experience and copy clarity. You will work to steadily increase the rate at which organic visitors convert into signups and active, engaged users.
You will assist in maintaining Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics 4 implementations, ensuring that event tracking and attribution models are configured correctly. You will take ownership of troubleshooting tracking and attribution issues independently, ensuring that data remains accurate and trustworthy. You will set the organic growth roadmap and prioritize initiatives, making decisions on what matters most without waiting for a predefined backlog. You will develop long-term organic growth strategy and establish standards and best practices that are adopted across the broader marketing function. You will specify changes clearly for engineering and content partners, and provide guidance to writers on what content must achieve for SEO and AEO success. You will actively use AI tools in your day-to-day workflow to improve output speed, quality, and overall effectiveness.
Requirements
You bring a documented history of search engine optimization success, with measurable outcomes in technical SEO, on-page optimization, and off-page authority building. Your experience must include real impacts on traffic and revenue, rather than only audit reports and theoretical recommendations. You have direct experience tracking and optimizing visibility inside large language models and AI search answer engines, with examples of changes you made and the resulting impact. You have hands-on experience running conversion experiments and A/B tests on live traffic that produced measurable improvements in key conversion metrics. You are highly proficient with marketing data infrastructure, including the setup and maintenance of Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics 4, as well as attribution configuration and independent data analysis. You are comfortable collaborating directly with engineers and content professionals, capable of specifying technical changes, reading code when necessary, and implementing modifications yourself. You actively use AI tools as part of your regular work process, leveraging them to enhance your productivity and decision-making.
You are able to communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, translating complex concepts into actionable plans. You thrive in an environment where ownership is expected and ambiguity is managed through structured experimentation. You are comfortable working independently while remaining closely aligned with cross-functional partners. You understand the importance of data privacy and compliance in measurement practices. You are passionate about building sustainable growth channels that compound over time. You are detail-oriented and able to manage multiple priorities without sacrificing quality or accuracy.
Nice to have
Candidates with experience marketing to developers or technical buyers, particularly within API-first, developer-tools, or infrastructure sectors, will find strong alignment with this role. The ability to implement production code changes, including modifications to HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, as well as working with templating languages, is a significant advantage. Proficiency with SQL and the ability to analyze your own data sets will allow you to iterate faster and validate hypotheses independently. Strong editorial judgment and a keen eye for clarity, tone, and technical accuracy are highly valued.
