IT Operations Engineer
Job description
.
About the role
You will own the end to end user experience for the technology systems that power our launch operations at Cape Canaveral. This role demands comfort with ambiguity and the ability to solve problems before they interrupt a critical countdown. You will partner closely with engineers, operators, and avionics teams to ensure technology never becomes the bottleneck in mission readiness. Your work will directly support the environments where Nova hardware is processed, tested, and prepared for flight. You will be expected to move with urgency while maintaining precision and care for complex infrastructure. This position thrives on ownership, where your judgment guides priorities when demands compete. You will be a visible presence on the floor of the Launch Complex and Launch Control Center, translating technical issues into clear actions for mission teams.

Provide first line and second line support for all computing devices including desktops, laptops, phones, and printers used in the Launch Complex and Launch Control Center.
Serve as the primary IT point of contact for contractors, visitors, and operational personnel at the launch site, responding quickly to day to day issues that affect mission support.
Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, connectivity, and access issues across Windows, macOS, and common business applications used in mission environments.
Troubleshoot complex performance, configuration, and reliability problems on workstations, conference rooms, and shared operational systems while documenting steps and outcomes.
Set up workstations, accounts, devices, and IT resources for new employees and visiting personnel, ensuring secure and timely access to tools needed for launch operations.
Ensure operational readiness of critical IT systems, printers, displays, communications tools, and shared technology resources so teams can focus on hardware processing.
Configure, support, and maintain audio, video, and camera systems used for meetings, launch operations, video conferencing, and facility security monitoring.
Assist with network troubleshooting, including wired and wireless connectivity, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, and basic switch port issues that affect launch control systems.
Install, terminate, label, and troubleshoot low voltage cabling, including network, controls systems, and AV wiring in the demanding environment of the launch pad.
Support IT projects including system upgrades, migrations, infrastructure improvements, hardware deployments, and technology buildout specific to the launch site.
Provide technical assistance to engineering, avionics, software, manufacturing, test, and launch operations teams as they work toward flight readiness.
Monitor hardware inventory, manage IT assets, and maintain accurate documentation of systems, configurations, and changes in a regulated environment.
Escalate issues when appropriate while maintaining ownership through resolution, ensuring minimal disruption to launch schedules and critical workflows.
Provide a high level of service and responsiveness to ensure an exceptional end user experience for every team member interacting with technology.
Perform all other duties as assigned to adapt to evolving priorities and support the success of the Nova program.

Strong knowledge of Windows and macOS operating systems, including troubleshooting, imaging, and security best practices.
Ability to independently diagnose and resolve common and complex software, hardware, endpoint, connectivity, and user access issues without constant guidance.
Working knowledge of networking concepts including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, wireless networking, and basic network troubleshooting methodologies.
Experience with Active Directory, user account management, and access control within a multi domain or hybrid environment.
Familiarity with endpoint security tools, patching, and configuration management practices used in regulated operational settings.
