Position Overview and Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will be the lead designer for high voltage substation physical systems. Your work will define the tangible solutions for energy and transportation infrastructure projects. You will own the entire design lifecycle, from initial client discussions through the final documentation and handover.

Your core duties will include the creation of detailed substation layouts for systems operating up to 500kV. You will develop and analyze computer models to test electrical system performance under a variety of conditions. A critical part of your function will be to compile comprehensive equipment specifications and system requirements for vendor review. You will also prepare clear, concise design reports to communicate technical solutions to stakeholders.

Ensuring all designs comply with established codes and standards is fundamental. You will be responsible for checking all calculations to confirm accuracy before final implementation. also, you will coordinate with professionals from other disciplines to align on shared project goals. Managing the project schedule and budget for multiple concurrent assignments is a key part of your leadership duties.
