The role owner drives verification activities for a next-generation secure video camera and a market-leading product line. They analyze complex requirements in the connectivity domain and translate them into concrete test coverage. This position demands hands-on validation of embedded software, networking, and CV/AI-driven processing across the full stack. The engineer systematically improves existing test processes and ensures traceability between requirements and verification results. They execute tests to uncover issues, report defects, and collaborate closely with development teams. The role also involves maintaining critical lab infrastructure such as Wi-Fi access points and cellular test equipment. Success is measured through reliable test execution, clear reporting, and support for continuous quality improvements. The owner works within a security and reliability focused environment where quality is embedded in every layer.

What you'll do
Perform requirements analysis for embedded device functionality in the connectivity domain.
Design and maintain test coverage for new features and device functionality.
Analyze and improve existing test coverage to address gaps and edge cases.
Create and maintain test documentation, including test plans, test reports, and traceability matrices.
Execute test cases according to established test plans to validate functionality and performance.
Report, track, and support defect resolution throughout the development lifecycle from discovery to closure.
Prepare and communicate test execution reports that provide clear status and metrics to stakeholders.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop new functionality and enhance existing features.
Support the maintenance and continuous improvement of the Connectivity Lab and testing equipment, including Wi-Fi infrastructure, cellular base stations, and related hardware.
Validate behavior of embedded systems under real-world network conditions using wired and wireless test setups.
Verify correct interaction between firmware, operating system components, networking stacks, and application software.
Conduct exploratory testing to discover issues that may not be covered by existing test cases.
Assist in defining test procedures that ensure security and reliability goals are met across the product stack.
Participate in reviews of testability features and provide feedback from a quality assurance perspective.
Ensure that all testing activities align with project timelines and quality standards.
Requirements
3+ years of experience in manual testing, with hands-on experience testing embedded systems.
Knowledge of software testing methodologies and experience creating test documentation such as test plans and traceability matrices.
Experience in Linux/UNIX environments, including command-line tools and log analysis for debugging issues.
Strong understanding of networking fundamentals, including the OSI model, wired and wireless networking technologies, and protocol behavior.
Understanding of embedded systems principles, including resource constraints, boot flow, and hardware interaction.
Experience with bug tracking systems to log, classify, and follow defect life cycles accurately.
Ability to root-cause failures across software, firmware, and hardware through systematic investigation.
Good communication skills and ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams including hardware, software, and operations.
Good written and spoken English to clearly document issues and coordinate with global stakeholders.
Ability to work from our Kyiv lab when required to ensure on-site validation and infrastructure setup.
Nice to have
Experience testing networking or IoT devices to broaden coverage across connected device scenarios.
Experience with cellular networking technologies such as 3G and LTE, as well as GNSS, BLE, LoRa, and LMR for diverse connectivity testing.
Network security knowledge including Firewalls, VPN, Wireless security, and traffic encryption to validate secure communication paths.
Experience with audio/video data streaming to assess quality and latency in capture and playback flows.
Linux scripting with Bash, Zsh, and Python to automate test setup, data collection, and result analysis.
Practical notes
Remote working mode is available within Ukraine only.
Ability to work from the Kyiv lab when required is essential for test execution and equipment support.
