Spin Careers is actively seeking a Staff Engineer to define and uphold the technical strategy and architectural standards that govern our engineering squads. You will serve as a central pillar of technical guidance and mentorship for development teams at various levels across the organization. The successful candidate will ensure that all software systems we deliver are inherently scalable, robust in security, and tightly aligned with overarching business objectives. You will own the responsibility of bridging the gap between high-level product ambitions and the technical feasibility of implementation. This role requires a proactive approach to identifying systemic issues and establishing long-term architectural guardrails. You will influence engineering culture by promoting best practices and fostering a sense of ownership among team members. Ultimately, you will be instrumental in shaping the technical trajectory of our products and the professional growth of our engineers.

What you'll do
- Architect and oversee the design of complex, large-scale software systems that address critical business needs.
- Deliver technical mentorship and guidance to both junior and senior engineering staff to elevate the overall technical proficiency of the team.
- Collaborate closely with product managers and business stakeholders to deconstruct strategic roadmaps into clear, actionable technical requirements.
- Work in tandem with SRE teams to design and maintain fault-tolerant infrastructure that guarantees high system availability and reliability.
- Define and enforce development standards centered on Test-Driven Development, robust CI/CD workflows, and secure coding methodologies.
- Develop and maintain automation tools that enhance deployment reliability and streamline operational efficiency across the development lifecycle.
- Analyze system performance metrics and observability data to pinpoint bottlenecks and drive optimization initiatives.
- Serve as a prominent culture ambassador dedicated to cultivating an inclusive, autonomous, and high-performing work environment.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and determine their applicability to our existing architecture and future goals.
- Facilitate code reviews and technical design discussions to ensure quality and consistency across all engineering outputs.
- Lead the resolution of complex technical challenges that have significant implications for the entire product ecosystem.
- Document architectural decisions and standards to ensure knowledge continuity and accessibility for all engineering teams.
- Partner with security teams to integrate security practices throughout the development lifecycle from the outset.
- Guide the team in the creation of well-defined APIs and integration patterns to ensure seamless communication between services.
Requirements
- Possess a minimum of 7 years of cumulative professional software development experience in a hands-on capacity.
- Demonstrate a proven track record of successfully building, deploying, and maintaining high-performance, scalable applications in production environments.
- Show deep, practical knowledge of modular architectures, the principles of superapps, and the implementation of reusable software components.
- Have substantial experience designing, developing, and integrating microservices using RESTful APIs and related communication protocols.
- Exhibit a strong proficiency and comfort working within Agile development environments and iterative delivery frameworks.
- Possess excellent communication skills necessary to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders effectively.

- Have experience working with distributed systems and understanding the challenges of network latency and data consistency.
- Show familiarity with containerization and orchestration technologies to manage application deployments effectively.
