Spin Careers is seeking an External Communications Lead to shape and deliver the company's public-facing messaging and brand narrative. This role is based in Ciudad de México, México, with the flexibility of remote work, allowing the candidate to contribute from a location that suits their lifestyle. The External Communications Lead will serve as the primary voice for Spin Careers in all external channels, including media, partnerships, and community engagement. The position requires a strategic thinker who can translate company initiatives into compelling stories for diverse audiences. What you'll do
Craft and execute external communication strategies that align with Spin Careers' mission and growth objectives across all markets.
Develop and maintain relationships with journalists, bloggers, and media outlets to secure coverage and manage press inquiries.
Write and edit press releases, media kits, talking points, and other materials that represent the company's positions clearly.
Coordinate messaging across product launches, partnerships, and corporate announcements to ensure consistency and timeliness.
Monitor public perception and media coverage, preparing internal reports that inform leadership decisions and communication adjustments.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather insights and translate technical developments into accessible external narratives.
Manage the company's external brand voice, ensuring it remains authentic, professional, and aligned with organizational values.
Plan and support external events, conferences, and speaking opportunities that increase Spin Careers' visibility in the industry.
Oversee the creation of visual and written content for social media platforms and corporate web presence.
Lead crisis communication protocols, responding quickly and thoughtfully to emerging issues that affect the company's reputation.
Support the development of thought leadership content, including articles, opinion pieces, and guest contributions that position Spin Careers as a recognized voice in the industry.
Requirements
Demonstrated experience leading external communications or public relations functions, with a strong portfolio of published work.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with fluency in Spanish considered a significant advantage.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail and meeting tight deadlines.
Experience working with media relations, including drafting pitches, securing placements, and handling press cycles.
Strong understanding of digital communication channels, social media platforms, and online reputation management practices.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in communications, journalism, marketing, or a related field.
Proven ability to work independently and take initiative in a remote or distributed work environment.
Comfort with ambiguity and the ability to adapt communication strategies as company priorities shift.
Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build productive relationships across cultures and time zones in a distributed team setting.

This role operates on a remote basis, allowing the External Communications Lead to work from Ciudad de México or any location with a reliable internet connection.
The position requires regular availability during overlapping business hours with the Spin Careers team, which may span multiple time zones.
Candidates should expect to participate in periodic in-person meetings or company gatherings, the frequency and location of which will be discussed during the interview process.
The hiring process includes a writing sample review, a strategic communications exercise, and at least two rounds of interviews with the leadership team.
