Join SPAN as a Salesforce Developer to take ownership of designing, developing, and maintaining automation processes, data models, and custom features within Salesforce to support our commercial operations. This on-site position requires close collaboration with various business teams to deliver scalable, efficient, and reliable Salesforce solutions that align with our mission of electrifying homes and vehicles, reducing carbon emissions, and building a more resilient energy grid. You will be responsible for implementing end-to-end Salesforce functionalities, ensuring system integrity, and leveraging AI tools to accelerate development and build innovative solutions for sales and operations teams. Your work will directly impact our ability to serve customers effectively and streamline business processes across multiple departments.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Design, develop, and implement comprehensive Salesforce automation workflows using Flow, ensuring solutions are bulk-safe, recursion-aware, and adhere to best practices.
- Create and maintain custom data schemas, including custom objects, relationships, record types, validation rules, and other schema components necessary for supporting business processes.
- Develop Apex code, including triggers, controllers, and test classes, to extend Salesforce functionality where declarative tools are insufficient, ensuring proper test coverage and adherence to coding standards.
- Build Lightning Web Components (LWC) to enhance user interfaces and user experience, especially when declarative tools cannot meet complex requirements.
- Gather detailed requirements from various stakeholders, write technical design specifications, and document scalable, maintainable solutions aligned with business needs.
- Manage deployment processes from sandbox environments to production using Gearset, following established change-management procedures and maintaining comprehensive release documentation.
- Maintain and improve the Salesforce security model, including configuring permission sets, profiles, field-level security, and sharing rules to ensure data privacy and compliance.
- Support and optimize core commercial systems such as Configure-Price-Quote (CPQ), quoting systems, Lead Pass, Experience Cloud portals, and order/fulfillment integrations to streamline sales operations.
- Utilize AI-powered tools to enhance development speed, automate routine tasks, and build AI-driven solutions that improve sales and sales operations workflows.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot, resolve issues, and implement enhancements that improve system performance and user satisfaction.
- Conduct regular code reviews, testing, and documentation to ensure high-quality deliverables and adherence to best practices.
- Stay updated on Salesforce platform features, releases, and industry trends to continuously improve technical skills and system capabilities.
- Participate in sprint planning, stand-ups, and other Agile ceremonies to ensure timely delivery of features and fixes.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members and support knowledge sharing within the team.
- Assist in the integration of Salesforce with external systems such as middleware or ERP platforms, ensuring data consistency and process automation.
Requirements
- Over 8 years of experience working as a Salesforce Developer, Administrator, or Business Systems Analyst with hands-on development and configuration expertise.
- Deep understanding of Salesforce Flow, including record-triggered flows, screen flows, subflows, and invocable actions, with a focus on bulk processing, run context, and recursion safety.
- Strong skills in Salesforce data modeling, including creating and managing custom objects, junction objects, and various relationship types, along with understanding data security best practices.
- Proficiency in SOQL, including relationship queries, and a solid understanding of governor limits and best practices for efficient data retrieval.
- Proven ability to develop Apex code, including triggers, controllers, and test classes, with experience building Lightning Web Components and ensuring comprehensive test coverage.
- Experience deploying changes across multiple sandbox environments to production using Gearset or similar tools, following formal change management processes.
- Familiarity with Salesforce security features such as permission sets, profiles, field security, and sharing rules, ensuring data privacy and compliance.
- Ability to gather detailed requirements from diverse business stakeholders, translate them into technical designs, and document solutions clearly and thoroughly.
- Experience working in fast-paced, growth-oriented B2B or channel sales environments, with a focus on delivering scalable solutions under tight deadlines.
- Salesforce Platform Developer I certification or equivalent demonstrable development experience, with a strong foundation in Salesforce development best practices.
- A driven, detail-oriented approach with a focus on execution, quality, and continuous improvement.
Nice to have
- Salesforce Administrator or Advanced Administrator certification to complement development skills.
- Experience with Experience Cloud / Communities administration, including managing sites, sharing, and security configurations.
- Knowledge of Salesforce CPQ or other quoting and pricing systems to support sales processes.
- Experience with Account Engagement (Pardot) for marketing automation and lead nurturing.
- Familiarity with integrating Salesforce with middleware or ERP systems such as Boomi or NetSuite, including external-ID patterns and platform-event-driven architecture.
- Exposure to working with APIs, web services, and external data sources to enable seamless integrations.
