You will design and implement predictive maintenance strategies that directly prevent unscheduled downtime and protect high-value engineering assets. What you'll do
- Serve as the definitive subject matter expert for all fluid and HVAC components installed across the facility site.
- Own the end-to-end reliability and maintenance strategy for critical infrastructure assets to ensure maximum operational uptime.
- Commission newly installed mechanical systems, validate nameplate performance data, and implement robust predictive maintenance protocols.
- Provide technical support for equipment selection, proper sizing, and procurement processes to ensure fit-for-purpose solutions.
- Drive systematic root-cause investigations following any equipment failure and develop corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Analyze system performance metrics to identify trends and proactively address potential weaknesses in the infrastructure.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional facility engineering teams to align maintenance activities with operational objectives.
- Interface directly with internal customers to understand requirements and communicate technical constraints effectively.
- Utilize advanced diagnostic tools and test instrumentation to assess the health and efficiency of fluid handling systems.
- Contribute to the development and refinement of maintenance procedures and reliability best practices for critical systems.
Requirements
- Hold a Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline from an accredited institution.
- Possess 1+ years of professional experience working with various fluid components including valves, pumps, COPVs, compressors, heat exchangers, pressure transducers, or temperature sensors.
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of fluid system principles and their application in demanding operational environments.
- Show proven ability to interpret technical documentation and manufacturer specifications for complex equipment.
- Exhibit strong analytical skills to evaluate system performance and diagnose issues using data-driven methods.
- Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders to convey system status and recommended actions.
- Work reliably and safely in a fast-paced environment where equipment uptime and system integrity are paramount.
- Adhere strictly to all company policies, safety protocols, and engineering standards during project execution.
Nice to have
- Hands-on experience with fluid (liquid and/or gas) handling systems in high-performance settings.
- Experience using data acquisition equipment, as well as test instrumentation and control components: pressure transducers, thermocouples, resistance temperature detectors, relays.
- Experience with HVAC systems and air ducting configurations common in advanced facilities.
- Experienced in NX or other CAD packages with a solid understanding and application of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) per ASME Y14.5-1994 and tolerance stack-up analysis.
- Experience with structural analysis methods in order to optimize hardware to strength requirements as well as to evaluate for life and fracture.
- Experience with pressurized structures and/or lightweight aerospace structures relevant to the mission.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining rigorous attention to detail.
Practical notes
This is a full-time position based in Memphis, Tennessee, with potential work assignments in Southaven, Mississippi. Travel may be required between locations as needed for site support and project activities. Employment is contingent upon successful completion of standard background checks and qualification verifications. This role requires adherence to strict safety and operational protocols inherent in aerospace facility environments.
