We are looking for a senior engineer to manage our enterprise identity systems, automate SaaS workflows, and scale our hybrid infrastructure. This role is critical for ensuring that our technical foundation supports ambitious research objectives without interruption. You will own the design and reliability of the systems that keep our teams productive and secure. The successful candidate will act as a strategic partner to engineering and security leadership. About the role
As a , you will serve as the foundational enabler for our AI mission by maintaining the identity and infrastructure systems that allow our teams to collaborate securely and efficiently. You will be responsible for the end-to-end lifecycle of our enterprise SaaS stack, ensuring that identity, access, and automation frameworks are resilient, scalable, and aligned with strict security standards. This role requires a balance of strategic architecture and hands-on technical execution to eliminate operational bottlenecks and support rapid growth. You will work closely with cross-functional stakeholders to translate business objectives into reliable technical outcomes. The position demands ownership of complex system design, deep expertise in identity protocols, and the ability to lead technical initiatives that reduce risk and improve operational excellence.
What you'll do
- Design and maintain core SaaS environments including Google Workspace, Okta, Slack, and Atlassian.
- Manage identity and access management programs, including SSO, lifecycle provisioning, and access governance.
- Act as the primary technical point of contact for complex system outages and architectural hurdles.
- Build automation for manual tasks using iPaaS tools and custom scripts.
- Create technical documentation, runbooks, and architecture diagrams for the team.
- Evaluate new technologies and lead proof-of-concept projects to improve security and efficiency.
- Partner with HR, Finance, Security, and Engineering departments to align IT systems with business growth.
- Monitor system performance and implement improvements to ensure high availability and scalability.
- Coordinate change management activities to minimize risk during deployments and updates.
- Support the integration of emerging tools that enhance security posture and developer experience.
- Optimize identity workflows to reduce friction for engineering and operations teams.
- Implement logging and monitoring strategies to provide visibility into system health and user activity.
- Collaborate with vendors and stakeholders to negotiate solutions that meet technical and financial goals.
- Contribute to disaster recovery planning and incident response procedures for critical IT services.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience managing SaaS portfolios in high-growth, hybrid environments.
- 4+ years of experience with automation platforms like n8n, Okta Workflows, Workato, Zapier, or BetterCloud.
- Expert knowledge of IAM protocols including SAML, OIDC, OAuth 2.0, SCIM, RBAC, and ABAC.
- Proficiency in API-based integrations and scripting via Python, Bash, PowerShell, or Google Apps Manager.
- Administrative experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Ability to manage on-call rotations and resolve high-pressure technical incidents.
- Must meet ITAR requirements: U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
- Strong understanding of security frameworks and compliance requirements relevant to regulated environments.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven setting.
- Experience with directory services, certificate management, and identity federation is mandatory.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for collaborating with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Proven track record of troubleshooting complex issues in distributed systems.
- Commitment to maintaining a high standard of professionalism and documentation hygiene.

- Okta Certified Professional, Administrator, or Consultant credentials.
- Google Workspace certifications.
- Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
