This position requires a unique individual who can effectively connect engineering insights with business strategies to explore, validate, and launch new service offerings aimed at underserved markets.

What you'll do
- Formulate and implement go-to-market strategies for emerging commercial opportunities within the satellite internet sector.
- Collaborate closely with network engineering and product development teams to evaluate technical feasibility and shape the development roadmap.
- Cultivate and manage relationships with external partners to test market assumptions and finalize commercial agreements.
- Develop comprehensive financial models, including unit economics and revenue forecasts, to support strategic decisions by leadership.
- Work in conjunction with legal, regulatory, finance, and marketing teams to ensure that new offerings comply with operational standards.
- Prepare partnership frameworks, sales presentations, and commercial proposals to effectively communicate value propositions.
- Analyze market trends and competitive landscapes to identify potential opportunities for growth and expansion.
- Lead cross-functional teams in executing strategic initiatives and ensure alignment with overall business objectives.
- Monitor and report on key performance indicators to assess the success of new service lines and make data-driven adjustments as necessary.
- Engage with stakeholders to gather feedback and insights that will inform future product enhancements and market strategies.
- Represent SpaceX at industry events and conferences to promote Starlink and build brand awareness.
- Mentor and guide junior team members to foster professional development and enhance team performance.
Requirements
- A Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline or a business-related field is required.
- A minimum of 8 years of experience in sales, business development, or partnership management, particularly within the telecommunications, consumer technology, utilities, or subscription services sectors.
- At least 3 years of professional experience specifically in connectivity, networking, or telecommunications.
- Candidates must be U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, or eligible for U.S. Department of State export authorization.
- Willingness to work weekends and extended hours as necessary to meet project deadlines.
- Ability to travel up to 50% of the time, including international travel for business purposes.
Nice to have
- Over 10 years of relevant experience in business development or sales roles.
- Experience in technical sales or sales engineering positions is a plus.
- Proven track record of launching business models tailored for emerging markets or underserved demographics.
- Familiarity with shared-access or multi-tenant connectivity architectures.
- Strong understanding of networking concepts and infrastructure.
- Capability to construct commercial frameworks based on foundational principles.
- Experience collaborating with regulatory and legal teams to navigate compliance issues.
- An MBA or advanced degree in business, telecommunications, or engineering is advantageous.
- Fluency in additional languages, particularly Portuguese or Spanish, would be beneficial.

Practical notes
The salary for this position ranges from $135,000 to $190,000 annually. The total compensation package includes potential stock options, discretionary bonuses, and participation in an Employee Stock Purchase Plan. Employees are offered comprehensive benefits, including medical, vision, and dental insurance, a 401(k) plan, life and disability insurance, paid parental leave, three weeks of vacation, and more than ten paid holidays each year. Employees based in Washington will accrue sick leave in accordance with state regulations. Additionally, company-provided shuttles operate between select locations in Seattle and the Redmond office. This role requires onsite presence.
