You will manage the supply chain for printed circuit boards to support the Starlink satellite constellation, including projects for space-based AI data centers and the Direct to Cell network. This role involves direct collaboration with internal engineering teams and external suppliers to ensure production quality and delivery consistency from initial design through full-scale manufacturing.

The core of this role is making sure SpaceX has a dependable supply of printed circuit boards at the scale the Starlink constellation requires. That starts with maintaining supply continuity for all PCB components, which means knowing where every part comes from, what its qualification status is, and what could interrupt supply. You will coordinate with R&D, design, and production departments to manage supplier performance, and you will audit and onboard new suppliers while assessing their manufacturing processes to make sure they can meet SpaceX standards.
Much of the day-to-day work is about transferring requirements into supplier operations. You will implement technical requirements and quality flow downs, execute production part approval processes (PPAP) to enable high-rate manufacturing, and monitor supplier qualification and reliability testing. For critical hardware characteristics, you will review and approve process controls, and you will analyze quality metrics to identify systemic issues and drive corrective actions. When problems surface, you will lead root cause failure analysis and manage supplier improvement projects, and you will provide technical feedback to suppliers to improve yields, reduce costs, and shorten cycle times. Reporting on supplier performance in quality, cost, and efficiency to internal leadership is a regular part of the role, so clear communication is important.
Requirements
- Bachelor degree in an engineering discipline.
- Experience with PCBs, electrochemical processes, microelectronics fabrication, or engineering laminates (academic projects, internships, or club participation qualify).
- Ability to travel 25-60% of the time for domestic and international site visits.
- Possession of a valid driver license.
- Must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, asylee, or refugee to meet ITAR requirements.
- Availability to work long hours and weekends as needed to meet project deadlines.
Nice to have
- Advanced degree in engineering, business, or supply chain management.
- Experience in electronics manufacturing, specifically with high-speed or RF PCB applications.
- Proficiency in supplier quality processes including APQP, FAIR, RCCA, and lean methodologies.
- Familiarity with quality systems such as ISO 9000, TS, AS9100, or NADCAP.
- Knowledge of statistical methods like Six Sigma, design of experiments, or SPC.
- Experience with 8D problem-solving methodologies.

Practical notes
Salary range: Level I ($100,000 - $115,000) or Level II ($110,000 - $135,000) based on experience and education.
