The role directly supports the mission of making human life multi-planetary and connecting the world through Starlink by ensuring the highest levels of performance for Akoustis RF filters. You will own the validation and optimization of test processes for next generation filter technology in a demanding manufacturing setting. This position requires a hands on approach to test development and execution in support of high volume production goals. You will be responsible for ensuring that all test procedures meet strict quality and reliability standards. Your work will directly influence the manufacturability and performance of critical RF components used in global satellite systems.

What you'll do
Develop and implement detailed test cases for new RF BAW filter devices to validate performance against specifications. Create and execute calibration procedures integrated into manufacturing workflows for devices spanning frequencies from 2 GHz to greater than 10 GHz. Drive continuous process improvement initiatives aimed at increasing yield, reducing cycle time, and lowering manufacturing costs. Develop robust cost of ownership and risk management models used to evaluate RF probe test plans and optimize resource allocation. Sustain and refine workflow operations within the test work center to support high-mix production environments and dynamic scheduling demands. Serve as the designated tool owner for automated probe stations and vector network analyzers to ensure reliability and uptime. Lead and mentor test operators to maintain smooth area workflow and adherence to production schedules. Collaborate closely with maintenance teams and tool vendors to troubleshoot and resolve tool and process issues with minimal downtime. Work directly with design teams to establish ground rules and design inputs that enhance manufacturability and testability. Lead the installation of new test tools, including both capability enhancing tools and capacity expansion equipment for production scaling. Write, review, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures, engineering instructions, and documentation related to lithography process control and test methodologies. Utilize Statistical Process Control and Design of Experiments methodologies to monitor, control, and drive improvements in manufacturing processes.
Requirements
Hold a Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or another relevant engineering discipline as the foundational academic qualification for this position. Bring a minimum of 1 year of hands on RF test engineering experience to demonstrate practical competence in the field. Be prepared to work extended hours and weekends as necessary to meet critical project milestones and production deadlines. Commit to working 100% onsite at the Canandaigua, NY facility to ensure full integration with team operations and safety protocols. Possess the legal right to work in the United States as required for employment in this role.
Nice to have
Showcased experience with automated wafer probe stations, vector network analyzers, probe card design, and the analysis of RF test data to accelerate test development. Demonstrated history of leading and directing operators in a fast paced manufacturing setting to ensure operational excellence. Strong proficiency in JMP statistical software, Microsoft Office Suite, and KLayout CAD software to support data analysis and design tasks. Excellent written, verbal, and organizational communication skills for effective collaboration across multidisciplinary teams. Proven ability to create detailed technical documentation and training materials for procedures and processes. Solid understanding of SPC, DOE, 8D, and risk or change management processes to ensure quality and compliance. Experience leading cross functional projects or tool installation programs to deliver complex initiatives on schedule. Familiarity with high volume manufacturing environments that involve frequent product changeovers and rapid technology shifts. Participation in quality audits and continuous yield improvement initiatives to drive operational excellence.
Practical notes
This position requires extended hours and weekend availability to meet critical milestones. The role is 100% onsite in Canandaigua, New York.
