Quality Inspector (Starlink Aviation)

About the role

You will perform hands-on inspections and manage documentation for Starlink Aviation hardware. This position requires you to collaborate closely with engineering and supply chain teams to ensure all products meet strict design standards and regulatory compliance. In this capacity, you will act as the final gatekeeper for product quality before components move to the next stage of production. You will be responsible for verifying that every assembly aligns with CAD models and technical drawings down to the smallest detail. The role demands a high level of ownership over the inspection process and the integrity of the recorded data. You will drive continuous improvement by identifying recurring issues and participating in corrective action initiatives. This position is integral to maintaining the reliability and safety standards expected by Starlink Aviation. Your work will directly support the operational efficiency of the repair station and the broader production workflow.

What you'll do

• Execute in-process and final inspections on mechanical and electrical assemblies using CAD models and technical drawings as primary references.
• Investigate and document production anomalies and test failures, ensuring all issues are resolved according to established protocols.
• Perform detailed inspections of repair station operations by traveling to various sites as required.
• Record and analyze quality metrics to support data-driven decisions and process enhancements.
• Liaise with engineering teams to clarify specifications and ensure a thorough understanding of requirements.
• Verify that all materials and components comply with ITAR regulations and internal quality standards.
• Maintain and update quality management system documentation to reflect current processes and audit findings.
• Coordinate with supply chain personnel to track non-conformance issues and monitor corrective actions.
• Champion lean manufacturing principles to eliminate waste and improve workflow efficiency.
• Communicate quality status updates to internal stakeholders and lead cross-functional corrective action efforts.

Requirements

• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent; no higher education substitutes will be considered.
• Bring a minimum of 2 years of quality control experience specifically within production or manufacturing environments.
• Demonstrate the physical ability to stand for a minimum of 8 consecutive hours during a single shift.
• Show the capacity to lift up to 25 lbs unassisted on a regular basis as part of standard job duties.
• Confirm availability to work weekends and mandatory overtime to satisfy critical project deadlines.
• Select one of the defined shift options: 1st shift (5:30AM to 4:00PM) or 2nd shift (3:30PM to 2:00AM).
• Meet all ITAR requirements by being a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
• Adhere to strict safety protocols and maintain a clean record regarding quality compliance.
• Follow detailed instructions precisely without deviation to ensure inspection accuracy.

Nice to have

• Accumulate 4 or more years of inspection experience within a manufacturing setting to leverage advanced techniques.
• Hold a Bachelor or associate degree in an engineering or technical field to deepen theoretical knowledge.
• Apply background in root cause analysis and material review board processes to resolve complex issues.
• Utilize experience with ISO 9001 and AS9100 quality management systems to ensure standards are met.

• Navigate quality management systems such as AS9100 and ISO 9001 with proficiency.
• Interpret detailed CAD models to validate component specifications accurately.
• Read and interpret technical drawings to ensure compliance with design intent.
• Employ structured root cause analysis methodologies to identify underlying issues.

Practical notes

• Pay ranges: Level 1 ($27.00 - $33.00/hour), Level 2 ($31.00 - $39.00/hour), Level 3 ($36.00 - $45.00/hour).
