About the role

Join the Starlink team to enhance the quality management system for our global broadband internet products. You will ensure compliance with ISO 9001 standards and drive continuous improvement across our in-house designed and manufactured hardware. This role requires collaboration with engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain teams to align processes with stringent quality requirements. You will act as a primary guardian of process integrity and product reliability for Starlink's rapidly scaling production. The position demands a methodical mindset capable of navigating complex systems and translating requirements into actionable controls. You will own the execution of quality frameworks that directly influence the success of Starlink's worldwide operations. This is a hands-on role where your work will be visible in every stage of the product lifecycle. You will be responsible for closing the loop on quality data to inform high-impact decisions.

What you'll do

• Establish the foundational structure of Starlink's Quality Management System and verify its alignment with ISO 9001 mandates.
• Conduct systematic assessments of Starlink manufacturing workflows to confirm adherence to defined operational requirements and regulatory standards.
• Lead investigations into quality performance data to uncover systemic weaknesses and drive targeted improvements.
• Coordinate with cross-functional partners to execute Corrective and Preventive Action plans for non-conformance issues.
• Facilitate the execution of internal process audits to validate control effectiveness and compliance.
• Partner with manufacturing leadership to perform supplier quality evaluations ensuring component reliability and consistency.
• Monitor key quality metrics to identify trends and support data-driven decisions for process optimization.
• Develop and maintain procedural documentation that clarifies roles, responsibilities, and compliance expectations.
• Support the preparation and execution of external certification audits relevant to the Starlink production environment.
• Implement risk assessment methodologies to proactively address potential failures in the manufacturing supply chain.
• Collaborate with engineering teams during new product introductions to embed quality controls from the design phase.
• Utilize analytical tools to visualize quality performance and communicate findings to technical and operational stakeholders.
• Guide the maintenance of the QMS repository ensuring all records are current, accurate, and retrievable.
• Serve as a subject matter expert for quality processes during cross-departmental initiatives and training events.

Requirements

• Hold a Bachelor degree in an engineering or STEM field from an accredited institution.
• Possess 1+ years of professional experience in mechanical or electrical product design, testing, or manufacturing.
• Demonstrate familiarity with quality management principles and their application in a production setting.
• Show the ability to interpret technical documents, procedures, and engineering specifications accurately.
• Exhibit strong attention to detail ensuring accuracy in documentation and data reporting.
• Maintain effective written and verbal communication skills to interface with multi-disciplinary teams.
• Prove capability to work independently with minimal supervision while managing multiple priorities.
• Confirm eligibility to work in the United States without sponsorship for ITAR-controlled activities.
• Acknowledge the requirement to work extended hours and weekends based on operational needs.
• Understand that relocation to Bastrop, TX is mandatory for this position.

Nice to have

• Accumulate 3+ years of experience in mechanical or electrical product design, testing, or manufacturing.
• Demonstrate a deep understanding of the ISO family of standards with an emphasis on ISO 9001 requirements.
• Hold ASQ-CQA-RAB certified lead auditor credentials or have completed equivalent training in audit methodology.
• Show detailed knowledge of manufacturing and supplier quality processes and tools.
• Apply quality tools such as root cause analysis, corrective action tracking, and QMS auditing in prior roles.
• Perform statistical analysis of quality metrics to support continuous improvement efforts.
• Use SQL to query databases and maintain data integrity for reporting purposes.
• Create or maintain Tableau dashboards to visualize quality trends and performance indicators.
• Exhibit strong technical writing skills for process documentation and procedure development.
• Display strong problem-solving skills when addressing complex quality issues under time constraints.

Practical notes

Applicants must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee to comply with ITAR regulations. The role requires willingness to work extended hours and weekends as needed. Relocation to Bastrop, TX is required if not already local; remote or hybrid work options are not available.
